Monster High; who are the Characters? How can I dress like them for Halloween or parties? Draculaura, Frankie Stein etc

Updated on June 21, 2014

Monster High is a great idea, with characters that are inspired from monsters, horror films and demons of various guises. They are the coolest dolls a girl, or boy for that matter, can play with.

From sons of daughters of Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster, the Mummy, Medusa, Sea Monsters, the Phantom of the Opera, zombies and other undead creatures, what an imaginative take on the barbie doll - which lets face it, compared to these cool kids is just a blond bimbo who is stuck in an outdated world where women just have to look good and have no depth.

Well these characters have great depth and are a great inspiration for girls and because of that reason I am all for them, anyway we can empower young girls can only lead to a generation of successful and independent woman.

So who are they?

Below I have included most of the main characters with where you can get a costume to look like her and how to apply makeup to look just as amazing.

Have fun reading and looking like a cool monster.

Draculaura

Draculaura

Draculaura is the 1600 year old daughter of Count Dracula. She is a vegetarian though, so she doesn't drink blood. She even goes as far to avoid the word blood. She is called drac by her friends.

She is a sweet, friendly and easy going monster. She can be a little childish at times although she is a massive flirt and is always a trend follower and a certain 'gossip ghoul'. She is someone who is overly excited and easily distracted at times. This can leave her prone to being clumsy and a little naïve. Saying that her smile hardly fails, even though she is a very emotional girl so can cry easily.

It came out that Draculaura is the adoptive daughter of Dracula, and this Dracula is not the one Bram Stoker wrote about. Dracula took her mother and her in when no one else would, where her mother became a housekeeper. They fell sick some time after though with a wasting disease, with her mother dieing of it. Dracula turned Draculaura into a vampire before she died. They eventually immigrated to America to get away from the angry mobs harassing them.

Dracula is constantly trying to persuade Draculaura to be more of a traditional vampire by keeping nighttime hours and drinking blood, but she is very reluctant to do this. She believes her father is very old fashioned.

Ghoulia Yelps is a zombie and is considered the most intelligent and sophisticated monster at Monster High. She only speaks zombie though, which takes the form of groans and moans, and can only move slowly.
