Pillow Pets are probably the hottest As Seen On TV kids product to hit the market in years and I have a feeling they are just getting started. Nobody can forget the impact of Beanie Babies in the 90's and the rise of Webkinz a few years ago. Although Pillow Pets are not causing lines, panic and chaos, they are definitely a full fledged fad if you are a parent you probably need to score a few of these.
Pillow Pets for kids really are a great idea and in the spirit of all simple products, we wonder "How come I didn't think of that?". Every kid loves stuffed animals, especially the soft plush cuddly kind they can snuggle up with. They provide comfort, security and a sense of home when they bring them out an about. Pillow Pets fill that need but do so with function in mind. These Pets actually unfold to become pillows which are perfect for just about everything.
If you've ever seen a Pillow Pet you will understand that they are just hard to not grab onto and snuggle. I've seen them in stores and watched kids hover around the display and start to turn crazy because they don't know which one to grab or what to do next. I liken it to a controlled frenzy and it's fun to watch the little ones try to process what happening around them.
Currently there are over 30 different pillow pets to choose from but they all have one thing in common, they're awesome! Even adults love to hold onto this things and I'll admit that I find myself hugging them unknowingly while I'm sitting watching television. It's a weird little addiction that I didn't realize I was doing until my daughter told me.
I have to say we have a few of these around the house because they get a lot of use, but for us the most benefit comes from the fact that our little ones don't seem to complain as much about going down for a nap or going to bed. The new toy factor has not worn off with Pillow Pets. Maybe it's the fact that all the kids are talking about them or bringing them to school and play dates, but whatever the reason these things don't seem to be slowing down. My only problem is that Pillow Pets seem to create a keeping up with the Jones' mentality where the kids want to collect them and get more than their friends.
We'll have to see where the Pillow Pets craze leads us but I'm thinking we'll be getting a lot of soft cuddly presents for Christmas this year.
