Tatsunoko vs Capcom: All Stars in states
I was pretty skeptical when I first heard this game coming out. I was like "oh, great...another vs. game -__-." However, when i looked at the footage on YouTube, I realized this game has a lot of potential to be great. I went to a Japanese culture convention in the summertime called Otakon (the biggest con on the East Coast of the U.S.). Apparently, they had the Cross Generation version of the game there, but I neglected it. Anyway, this game looks really incredible -- the character models look really well done. I love the variety of the characters. Even though my fav all time character, Ken, is not on the game I will not fret. One main reason: Zero from Megaman X is in this game. I have to give major props and respect to Capcom for not only putting him in the game, but doing him justice. There are a lot of different characters from the Tatsunoko series -- the most popular is probably from the series Gatchaman aka "G-Force" in the U.S.
Some of the other characters include:
Capcom: Ryu, Chun-Li, Batsu (Rival Schools), Alex (Street Fighter III), Morrigan (Darkstalkers), Soki (Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams), Mega Man Volnutt (Mega Man Legends), Roll (Mega Man), Saki (Quiz Nanairo Dreams), Viewtiful Joe, PTX-40A (Lost Planet).
Tatsunoko: Ken the Eagle, Jun the Swan (Science Ninja Team Gatchaman), Yatterman, Doronjo (Yatterman), Casshan, Tekkaman, Polymar, Karas, Ippatsuman and Gold Lightan, and a few other yet to be revealed characters.
Of course, it also features the 2 on 2 combat system like the other predecessors.
Controls will be interesting due to the fact of the Wii having four main buttons. It kinda reminds me of Marvel vs Capcom with using one button as different punch or kick commands.
Gameplay: It features the old school tactics of performing Aerial Raves (air combos), and Delayed Hyper Combos. What is also interesting is the Mega Crash defensive moves, Assault attack moves and the Baroque extended combo system (which allows you to extended your combo while sacrificing your red bar).
It's currently due out next month at 1/26/10. You can pre-order it on Amazon. It's definitely a must buy title that is exclusive to the Nintendo Wii
