Apple Cider Vinegar, such as Braggs, has a multitude of health benefits. It is not only beneficial in promoting optimal health, but is also useful in treating certain skin conditons in pets.

Apples have been around since the beginning of time, or at least since the time period of our first parents, Adam and Eve, and maybe even a bit longer. Unfortunately Eve, had chosen one bad apple, with the help of Satan and as a result, we as a human race, have been plagued with sickness and ill health since than. However during that Biblical time period of our first parents, we have discovered a few good apples among few of the more rotten ones.

Yes, from the enticing apple we have found that in taking and pressing cider apples together very firmly, we in turn have discovered apple cider vinegar as a result. And as a result and just like magic we get vinegar. Vinegar is a product of fermentation. Fermentation further results as sugars in foods are broken down by yeast and bacteria. This all sounds like a very complicated process, but is rather easy to comprehend.

To simplify further...you take some apple juice, this gets fermented to form hard apple cider, the good stuff! Afterwards, the hard apple cider goes through a second fermentation process, that results in the formation of apple cider vinegar. The cider vinegar retains all the nutritional value of the apples that it is made from. In addition some extra enzymes and acids are also added.

Acetic acid still remains as the main ingredient of this healthy concoction. It all may sound terrible to some of us, and you probably will not want to eat another apple after reading this. But look at all of the good that comes from apples that produce apple cider vinegar. As you read on, you will realize that ingesting a couple tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day, does much good as far as health benefits go.

Apple cider vinegar over countess decades has been found to do amazing things for our health. Right down to assisting in the digestion process, normalizing blood sugar levels; relieving minor sore throats and a slew of other age old remedies. Yes it seems that apple cider vinegar is the golden tonic of both ancient and modern times, that is good for what ails you!

I first stumbled upon this fact about a year ago while I was over in downtown Mystic Connecticut, which is a quaint little seaside village nestled along Long Island Sound. While sampling some soup at a local health food store, I had the pleasure of meeting a seventy-five year old man, who moved and acted much like that of a fifty year old. Out of curiosity I couldn't help but ask him what he was doing right, or what I was doing wrong over these past ten years or so.

With somewhat of a shrewd grin, the older gentleman glanced up from his morning paper, turned slowly towards me, shook his head a bit from one side to another, and said in a rather low key voice-"you know, it's really very simple!" "All I do is try to stay active by walking a mile or so a day and take 50mg. of L-Carnitine-(an amino acid)- two capsules per day and along with those capsules, drink two glasses of apple cider vinegar. "I place the two tablespoons of the cider vinegar in an eight ounce glass with either apple juice, or water and down the hatch it goes! and I repeat this routine twice during any 24 hour period!"

This is what I thought the seemingly elder gentleman went on to say, as he continued to reveal his longevity secret to me. I just acknowledged the man with a nod whom I later found out was better known to the locals as big John; in his community of super young looking old folks.

But never the less I had a tough time believing that apple cider vingar, along with a few vitamin supplements; could really make that much of a difference In an individual. And thought right away, that what's good for the goose, must be good for the gander. Particularly to physically make someone appear to look younger then they physically appeared. But also assist them in acting more vibrant than your ordinary run of the mill Joe.

Out of curiosity I just had to do some additional research on the topic to share with my readers. As I continued to dig a bit deeper into the core of the matter. I soon realized that apple cider vinegar may without a doubt, have rejuvenating properties equal to that of a modern day fountain of youth. Apple cider vinegar was even used back in the 1950's, during a time when alternative medicine was just beginning to take root.

Besides taking the liquid form of apple cider vinegar, many folks also were consuming pills. As a dietary supplement, apple cider vinegar comes in a 450mg. pill form as well. In addition it has been shown that honey mixed with apple cider vinegar, acted as a type of healing elixir and an energizing liquid.

Apple Cider Vinegar is also used internally; to lower high cholesterol and normalize blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. Apple cider vinegar has even been shown to assist people in losing unwanted pounds. However the mechanism behind shedding weight with apple cider vinegar, is not quite understood. Apple cider vinegar had many external uses, besides those that benefit internally.

Some have also used this golden tonic as a hair wash in maintaining normal ph of the hair, as well as ridding the scalp of dandruff and lice. Other external uses include but are not limited to-soothing sunburned skin and treating insect bites. And a majority of people find that apple cider vinegar makes an excellent cooking ingredient, in preparing their favorite dishes.

It's not just beneficial to us humans in the fight to maintain optimal health. Our feline and canine counterparts also fare well; from the benefits that apple cider vinegar provide. From taking away the foul odor of a skunk, right down to ridding their fur of fleas, ticks and mosquitos, that on occasion can leave skin infections and blemishes.

It certainly seems that without a doubt, apple cider vinegar continues to amaze us in so many ways. And if you are looking to improve health and wellness not only for yourself, but your furry friends as well, why not pick up a bottle or two during your next trip to the market or health food store.

I find a wider selection to choose from when I am at the local health food store. And I prefer Bragg apple cider vinegar, over other popular brand names, not just because of the name on the label. But this particular brand has been around for awhile and seems to get the most recognition for one reason or another.

You will find a good number of other products with the name Bragg on the label. Among them are Bragg liquid aminos, which taste great when added to a soup with miso added to it, or even on your favorite stew. Just keep in mind, that not all apple cider vinegar's are created equal either.

Unlike that rotten apple that our first mother had set her eyes upon, and picked from that forbidden tree, within the garden of eden. You by all means want to pick the best fruit and from the right tree, which will produce the best vinegar. Those few apples that come from the cream of the crop, include the ingredient-"mother of vinegar."

Mother of vinegar, is basically a gelatinous compound, that is formed during the last part of the process of fermentation. The apple cider vinegar, resulting from this fermentation process, comes from the best organically grown apples, which are cold-pressed. This vinegar is not pasteurized and in addition, does not contain any preservatives or added chemicals. Bragg name apple cider vinegar as previously mentioned, is one vinegar which fits this description.

So the next time you take a trip down the health-food aisle of your local market, don't forget to pick up the apple cider vinegar off of the shelf. And when you arrive home and prepare your first glass of this healthy, golden liquid; just think of big John as you pour it all down the hatch! and may good health come to you in return.
