As the Sun Demarcates a Calendar Day

Updated on June 23, 2014

A 24 hour day marked by natural sundials, aligned with the axis of the Earth's rotation, divulging the correct time marks the time zone leaving its path in full experience of what is called life. The imaginary International Date Line that moves from the point of midnight separating the two calendar days, that is current somewhere on Earth, runs with the hands of my watch from the North to the South Pole and demarcates the one calendar day from the next as it reaches the opposite side of the Earth to the known Prime Meridian, also referred to as the International Meridian or Greenwich Meridian.

As the sun demarcates a calendar day in the way it does, I believe what Audrey Hepburn (1929-1993) quoted:

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the pretties girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles. "

Morning

Almost always, I am awake before the alarm reminds me to get out of bed. Our day has to start with giving thanks to God for so much and asking Him to lead us in our choices of the day that we are about to start.

The first morning hours are occupied with pet care and all the jazz to prepare for the job that will sustain our living style. As we go through all the chores that actually have become a natural routine, birds are outside distracting our production and the sun flirts behind the mountain making reality the words from Psalm 19:7 that says:

"The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple . "

Afternoon

The best part of living near your job is that lunch time can be enjoyed in the peaceful and comfy area of your own home; having the privilege to eat with the partner that God gave to share life.

Afternoon is a moment where a stressful morning can be canalized as we talk over what has happened; to look up for advice, encouragement and decisions... again we say until later to go back to our respective responsibilities, as the sun changes the scene from the mountains and hills in front of our home, the words become real from Psalm 19:8:

"The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes ."

Evening

Oh, how lovely it is to come out of our working places and delight in the sky on top of us! How wonderful and pleasant it is to observe how the sun paints the atmosphere with diverse colors and dresses the different styles of clouds.

We break routines at this time of the day. We like to feel the freedom God has given us. Words are not necessary to know that it is true what it is written in Psalm 9:9:

"The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether ."

Night

Is the night the end of the day?...Not yet...We still have lovely hours to hold one another very tight after a bath that refreshes our body from the big light called the Sun, that is covered for a while to give rest to our bodies; to share a little bit more our day's experiences and plan for the next day and give thanks, as the moon delights us with its majestic appearance, we read his words which recalls Psalm 9:10:

"They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb ."

Goodbye, Dong Maber, Wadlandhai, Adyos, Pirkano Paye Yan...

From the Western Hemisphere to the Eastern Hemisphere we send a big hug as you receive the Sun, which God created to give us light as it demarcates your day and comes back to us the next morning as we give you back the Moon that will accompany you at night. I will leave here written the last words of Psalm 9 in the verse 14 that says:

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer ."

Don't worry if you are living some kind of unpleasant experiences; like the imaginary International Date Line, believe also as Audrey Hepburn. Pretty and handsome people are the happiest because God is watching from a distance.

Adiós and blessings to all!
