Baking Soda - For Your Health

Find chemical-free ways to better your health and relieve pain the natural way. Are there foods for health that can cure or prevent disease?

Visiting a fellow hubber I learned someone had recommended baking soda to him for pain, that the pain may be gout. He was seeing a good result in little time, or he was pretty sure.

Well, I am wild about any natural remedies so I set off to see if indeed he may have the gout, which someone had recommended this remedy for. I found out that, yes, gout could be caused from diabetes which this friend has and that, yes, baking soda could relieve this pain!

I get so excited over things like this, don’t you? This search took me farther than I ever dreamed though and was so very interesting. I just had to share it.

Alkaline Verses Acid in Cancer

Baking soda has been praised much and I am sure we all know many of the benefits from whitening teeth to keeping the fridge smelling fresh and probably we all have heard it is good for indigestion, maybe a few of us have tried it. Probably not more than once or twice though, we didn’t make it a part of our life did we? Would it be a good idea if we did?

I read wonders about it, indeed. The Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, 2009; revealed a study of 134 patients with progressed kidney disease given baking soda daily significantly lowered the development of their kidney disease, with the end result of no need for dialysis. How about that!

Caution

Contains large levels of salt. Must be used with care.

Cancer Cannot Survive in an Alkaline Body

Also, there are interesting health benefits when you drink baking soda, which is alkaline, in water. Diseases and viruses such as colds, flu, and even heart disease and cancer will thrive in an acidic body, but cannot survive when your body is alkaline. What a huge thing to know! So you want to just start guzzling it right away, but wait up. We need all the facts before starting on anything we really know nothing about.

This had a very interesting tie to my hubs of hyperkalemia; being one of the things that can lower high potassium. It could be a life saver and it is good to know all we can to help ourselves and I will be the first to say I have been really put out by doctors, yet there is much they do know that we don’t. Even if it is like pulling teeth to learn anything from them our knowledge helps us ask the right questions and lets them know we mean business.

Perhaps if we speak to them with more knowledge we will receive better and more prompt treatment? Regardless, knowledge can and does increase our chance at better health.

Concentrate on keeping the alkaline up in your body to prevent cancer! Vegetables and fruits on a daily basis can help you achieve a balance necessary to keep you healthy. Maybe cancer free?

Tissue Minus Oxygen Equal Cancer

When tissues in the body are lacking in oxygen they are prone to cancer. Cancerous tissues are acidic, healthy tissues alkaline. A solution containing more H+ than OH- is said to be acid. If it contains more OH- than H+ it is said to be alkaline. As oxygen enters an acid solution it can combine with H+ ions to become water. Oxygen helps neutralize acid, while acid prevents oxygen from reaching the tissues that need it. Acidic tissues are lacking free oxygen. An alkaline solution is just the opposite; an alkaline solution can provide oxygen to the tissues.

In trying to understand this; the pH scale goes from 0 to 14, 7 being neutral. Under 7 is acid and over 7 is alkaline. Lymph, blood, and cerebral spinal fluid in our bodies are designed to be somewhat alkaline at pH of 7.4. Over this 7.4, cancer cells become dormant and at pH 8.5 they will die as healthy cells will live. Very beneficial then is increasing the alkalinity of the tissues such as vegetarian diet, the drinking of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, and dietary supplements with alkaline minerals such as cesium, calcium, potassium, magnesium and rubidium. It has been proven though that nothing can equal to the alkalizing supremacy of sodium bicarbonate for safe and effective treatment of cancer. Baking soda. Why is this not on front pages everywhere?

Now it is not simply that astounding benefit we can look forward to from Baking Soda but possible a stopping of pain from gout. Wiping out flu or colds or very diminished when they do occur. I think this is a great discovery!

As with all things though there is many times a warning. Baking soda is salt and many people for whatever reason, high blood pressure for one, cannot tolerate it. Possibly cutting back salt as you use it and monitoring your blood pressure could allow you to try it. If taking for gout you should know that gout also raises blood pressure, so these are things to consider and discuss with your doctor. It really depends on your health and should be discussed with your healthcare provider, naturally. I would not advise you to just start this treatment without really knowing what you are doing even as exciting as it sounds.

I started out using it just brushing my teeth and getting small bits gradually with a slow increase checking my blood pressure daily.

Cancer Cure?

Easy Does It

If you do decide to try this there are several measurements recommended online and differing ways to ingest it. I recommend the wrist blood pressure monitors for certain if you have blood pressure issues. Life Source is one I have used for years seeing home health nurses use them and checking them against the doctor’s offices and ones I used in stores such as Wal-Mart let me know this one was very accurate. They can be found for between $20 & $30 and last for many years if taken care of. Nothing could be more simple to use.

We learn baking soda is number one for treating cancer, or at least certain kinds and I will leave some links that go further with that. Do not be discouraged though if baking soda cannot become a part of your diet for even though they may not be as good as baking soda and not related in curing cancers; there are other things to raise alkaline or lower acid which we see here is so important for our health and feeling good. Maybe as a new diet they can even become very close and could a simple gargle of baking soda do a body good without harm? Learning is really exciting isn't it? Isn't natural always the best way to go?!
