Catching cold in spring

I've been waiting for spring to enjoy amazing weather and to spend nice outdoor time with family and friends. Yesterday I woke up very early in the morning, and after performing some morning household chores I sat in the balcony to drink coffee and check my email up. I don't remember what has exactly happened I just woke up after while to find my self freezing on my chair with my laptop out of charge. I realized that I've spent around 40 minutes napping there. I woke up with a sore throat and it went more bad after while. Catching cold makes me feel uncomfortable and gives me sleepless nights and turns my daily life into a misery, as every small task I do becomes a hard work.

What was the reason?

We catch a cold through contact with droplets in the air when someone suffering talks very closely to us or when he sneezes or coughs. It is also transferred through objects that a sick person touches. Yes, it's that easy, and consequently extremely difficult to avoid. It was my daughter who were sick and insisted to sleep beside me the night before. I didn't want to let her feel bad and slept beside her in her bed. Being a mother sometimes leads you to some risk :)

We all know that the common cold is a viral disease. It affects the upper respiratory system. Common cold might turn into other bad infections "such as acute bronchitis". If you have a lung condition "like me" such as asthma, it makes you more probable to lungs infections.

It's very improtant to give your self a rest and drink lots of water and hot drinks. Antibiotics might work on common cold, they alleviate some of the symptoms but the virus life time should continue and takes it time in body "around 5 days".

Does going outside with wet hair or getting a chill can be a direct cause to cold. In fact low tempatrures does not cause cold but it lowers the body defenses against preventing a cold.
