How To Be Happy With What We Have In Life

Updated on August 12, 2013

How to be happy with what we have in life seems to be a huge question for many, so why are we not happy when we have so much to be thankful for.

Remember when we were just young babies and how happy we were? We were well taken care of by our parents and loved every minute of life. We smiled, laughed, and cried at times, but just to be able to open our eyes each morning and see daylight knowing we are alive and looked forward to another blessed day that God has given us. I do realize that at such a young age we did not appreciate these things and were too young to know any better, but as we got older we soon learned the value of life.

We were so young and innocent and haven't experienced the outside world yet, but as time passed and we got older we had the pleasure of seeing what the real world was made up as and trying to navigate through it the best we knew how.

We all went to school and many of us loved it and then there were those that hated school and unfortunately didn't care to learn and grow by what our teachers wanted to teach us.

Between our parents and our teachers we had a wonderful chance to learn about life, the history of life and to learn to grow and be smart adults in life. The problem for many is that they just didn't care enough and seemed like they were not happy people for one reason or another.

As children everything that was given to us no matter how small we were tickled to death and so happy to get this special idem. Can you remember Christmas when you were a young child and opening all of the gifts from Santa and the smile that went from ear to ear? I certainly can remember mine and they were so of the best years of my life.

Whatever we received from Santa we were so happy and thrilled to get those gifts no matter how large or small.

Now as we are adults these gifts no matter how large are small just are not enough. We always tend to want and want more out of life and are not happy with what we have or what we have been given.

Finding Happiness

Finding happiness in your life is all that you make it. If you wish to be negative and walk around miserable you will never have happiness in your life being this way.

You must think positive and act positive in order to find some happiness in your everyday life. You must try a little harder to be happy if you are the type to be unhappy most of the time.

Think of happy things that had happened in your life when you were young and remember all the great times that left a mark in your life and this will bring a smile to your face which in turn will help you to start to feel happy again.

Life as I said is all that we make it. Be happy with what you have in life and stop wanting more and more because more and more will not bring you more happiness and if it does it will be only for a short time until you again want more.
