My Comatose Experience

Updated on October 28, 2012

John Connor's Comatose Experience

I slipped into a comatose state in January of 2003 after suffering from a significant "brain-bleed." I was pronounced brain-dead at Florida Hospital North in Altamonte Springs, Florida on January 8th, 2003. With the most rapid intervention of my better-half, Kate, her mother and most significantly, her brother, Dr.Thomas Campbell (long distance from Colorado) I thank God for this... I was transferred to Florida Hospital South (a higher level hospital) within hours. I would be comatose for 30 days before awakening in my hospital room directly beside my good friend, Don Elderdice who coincidentally suffered from a brain aneurysm a week before my coma. He was induced into a coma to facilitate healing. We were both in comas at the same time in the same hospital beside each other with the same nurses and two brilliant doctors named Baker and St. Louis...

What I remember about my coma can be summarized in two words, those words are: wonderful journey. My experience began with a recollection of my life flashing back before me; yet my recollection did not stop at my birth it continued back before my birth, way back to a time and place that I can best describe as B.C. and ended with my arrival in an Eden-like place. I do not remember seeing a tunnel of light or bright light in front of me. Although my whole experience was bathed in bright natural sunlight.

I ended up at the base of a significant hill that was populated with millions of people of various ages (all though most were elderly), races and dispositions. I flew into this area and landed not unlike an airplane (although I wasn't on one). The mass of people seemed to be waiting; although I wasn't: I began to instinctively climb to the crest of the hill. I have no idea why the mass of people did not follow me. By the time I climbed to the rest I was alone.

At the crest of the hill I found two standing stones or rock pillars. I once again instinctively walked between the standing stones and was intercepted by two beings (I believe they were human although they were dressed in brown robes and there was no evidence that they had arms). They did communicate most effectively with me however, they were not moving their lips. Both spoke in unison and it was perfectly clear that I had no need to fear them. Both beings were dressed the same, in long brown robes with hoods. They were taller than me probably about 6 feet 4 inches. It was apparent that I knew them yet I could not place names to them (a most peculiar circumstance). Both conveyed a significant tranquility to their nature as they "interviewed" me. I should say they were discerning everything about me by being near me. They did have a significant calming effect to say the least. Once they had finished analyzing (discerning) all about me; it seemed they knew what I needed and began to perform the tasks to help me. They placed me in a massive tree that somehow had a healing effect on me (I have no idea of time-frame in this location). This treatment changed me significantly... My next recollection is their communication to me that I could stay or go back to my family and my existence. I believe they asked the question many times (although I am unsure...). I eventually communicated that I would like to go back and revealed the reason why (I believe it was in my heart sort-of-speak) to be with and assist my family and loved ones. They were content with this and i think they waved... My next memory was being in my hospital room with my wife and looking at her and saying; "Is it okay if I go back?" She significantly emotionally screamed John is awake! Was I really speaking to my wife, Kate or perhaps, just perhaps I was crossing-back over to here, right here as I spoke those most profound words?
