At age 16 I was a volunteer at a hospital bacteriology lab. I became a chemist for U.S. government. Then I studied health & related fields.

Using New Alzheimer's Treatment of Ultrasound Tecnology

A new treatment of Alzheimer's disease uses ultrasound technology to clear out the beta-amyloid plaques in the brain completely restoring memory. The Queensland, Australia government spent $9 million to test this out on mice and found that it works on 75% of them.

Two researchers at the Queensland Brain Institute at the University of Queensland found that the ultrasound therapy clears the brain of neurotoxic amyloid plaques. These are structures that are blamed for a decline in cognitive function and memory loss in patients who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease.

This has been done in mice without drugs that all have bad side effects. The next step to be done is to test it in humans. That process will begin in 2017. There are currently more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease that is the major cause of dementia. It is the sixth leading cause of death of Americans and among those that are 65 and older, it is the 5th leading cause of death. Of course we do not know if it will work in humans but there is a good chance that it will.

There is no cure for Alzheimer's disease and this is the main cause of dementia. Most people that get it diagnosed, die within 7 years. My cousin, Carol Bluestein, cared for her mother who had it and died. She had decided that it was the best thing for her mother to take care of her although it was not the best thing for Carol. It was extremely hard on her to take care of someone that has their memory fading away.

Of course people can do things now to prevent causing the disease, There are 16 ounces in a pound. Ben Franklin says "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." One thing a person can do is get enough sleep. How much is enough? When you cannot sleep anymore. You do not have to worry that you will sleep without waking up for a week if left undisturbed.

You cannot sleep too much. You will wake up and not be able to sleep. Some people think that you get too much sleep. They were sleeping and woke up and felt fine. Then they went back to sleep and slept some more. Then they woke up and felt bad. So their conclusion is that they slept too much. So what happened? It is a mystery of God that will never be figured out.

Just kidding! Now when you sleep you do something else that you may never do. Some doctors say that this other thing is bad for you. If a doctor says that sleep is bad for you, people would think that he is a an idiot. He doers not know that he is saying that. He does not know that he does this when he sleeps, but he does.

Now one who is familiar with this thing knows that it is normal to feel bad similar to how you feel bad when you quit smoking cigarettes or quit heroin. So what is going on? When you stop fasting it is called breaking a fast. So that is why the first meal of the day is break-fast. So when you go without eating for a certain period of time, your body goes into a cleansing mode where toxins are expelled at an accelerated rate.

Your body will hurt depending on how clean or toxic your food that you have eaten was. Now there is probably other reasons why sleep is important but they have found that when you sleep is when your brain gets rid of toxins. So you need to get enough sleep to get rid of all the toxins. You do not need to get enough every night but you need to catch up on any sleep you need. It was very big news when they learned that the brain gets rid of toxins when the person sleeps. See Brains flush toxic waste in sleep, including Alzheimer’s-linked protein, study of mice finds-- from the Washington Post. It says:

While we are asleep, our bodies may be resting, but our brains are busy taking out the trash.

A new study has found that the cleanup system in the brain, responsible for flushing out toxic waste products that cells produce with daily use, goes into overdrive in mice that are asleep. The cells even shrink in size to make for easier cleaning of the spaces around them.

Scientists say this nightly self-clean by the brain provides a compelling biological reason for the restorative power of sleep.

So now you know how important sleep is. Since most Americans have trouble sleeping make sure to see 9 Ways to Sleep Much Better. Probably the second most important thing to prevent this disease that can hurt many people besides the person who has it is exercise. Exercise is very important in making sure the circulation is adequate.

Many do not like to exercise but your life depends on it. Many areas of your heath depend on getting enough sleep and exercise. Also many people think that it is difficult to figure out which is a heath diet. Eat more foods that are made by God or nature and eat less foods that are made by man. God or nature creates foods that are good for your health.but man wants to make food that you cannot stop eating and will make you obese. The more that they sell you, the more money they make. Even cancer is linked to how much you sleep, how much you exercise and what you eat.

Dr. Oz says a similar thing but in a different way. He says to eat foods that do not have an ingredient list. This is another way of looking at it or expressing it. That is easy to understand but it makes a huge difference. They have found that certain foods in one's diet prevent Alzheimer's disease. Like there is green tea that also helps you lose weight and prevents cancer. See 17 Health Benefits of Green Tea.

See benefit number 8. How Green Tea Protects Against Alzheimer's Disease says:

Alzheimer’s disease occurs as a result of your brain cells being impaired, and eventually killed. This is partially caused by the buildup of toxic protein fragments called amyloid beta.

Green tea gets to the root of Alzheimer’s disease by three distinct mechanisms: preventing the formation of amyloid plaques, breaking down existing plaques, and creating critical new neurons in the brain.

As a result, green tea consumption has now been associated with a 54% reduction in the risk of developing cognitive decline.

Then there is curry that has as main ingredient turmeric. Studies have shown that people who consumed the highest amounts of curried foods actually have better brain performance. Autopsies on Alzheimer's patient's brains have revealed thick clumps of a protein called amyloid. In animal and lab studies, researchers have found that curcumin is a potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-amyloid compound. It binds to amyloid proteins and prevents them from grouping together to form plaque.

This phytochemical (plant medicine), curcumin, also prevents cancer. Also see 7 Health Benefits of Turmeric. Fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds are good to prevent Alzheimer's disease. In fact the CDC, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, says that everyone should eat more fruits and vegetables.
