Positive Attitudes Can Grow On You

Thinking Positive

Have you ever gone to a Shopping Mall and just sat on the bench and watched people come and go? Have you taken notice of all the different looks on ones face? Have you notice the different walks that these people have while they are strolling along the isles looking for that great buy?

You can tell by looking at these people and their facial expression just how they are feeling. Some faces look to be very sad. Some faces have the look of worry, and then we have the faces that tend to be very happy and content. These happy and content faces are far and few between nowadays, at least what I have seen over the last few of years.

As we all know, many people in our society today have many problems. Most of these people keep their problems inside of them, but the facial expressions says it all.

Some may have an illness in their family or a very sick friend which would take a toll of this person attitude.

Some may have some really bad financial problems, but embarrassed to speak about it. There can be so many different things that would make a person feel down in the dumps and just living in a negative world. They can't seem to be able to snap out of their negative world they live in.

Then we have the people that have everything they could possibly want in life, and they too are miserable with their life. Why is it that you see people that have everything, and they are negative and miserable?

My answer to that is that they are basically spoiled people. There is never enough for these people to make them truly happy and content with their life. Nothing is good enough for them, they just want more, and yes I was one of them. I was told by my parents that I could be given the world on a silver platter and still wouldn't be happy. Years ago this was very true for me, nothing was good enough, I always wanted more.

Maybe there is an answer for all these people, to be able to find positivity in their lives. I can relate to all of the above because I was one of these people that lived in a world of negativity, and the biggest problem was all do to being addicted to alcohol.

The more I drank, the more I dreamed, and the more I said poor little me. Why me I would always asked.

I had a wonderful family life, two beautiful parents and one great sister. Always had food on the table and a roof over my head. Never got sick and very healthy through the years, but still that wasn't enough for me.

There were many days and nights I was so positive and happy outside, but deep down I was crying of negative thoughts. The alcohol made me look to others as if I had the world right in the palm of my hands. Little did anyone know it was the booze speaking for me and not my real self.

Over the last year or so, I have found out that positive attitudes can grow on you, and I am proof of this.

Being clean and sober gave me a new outlook on life and I found that thinking positive can change anyone life if you want it to take over.

I think now, how in the world can anyone be happy, or to be able to go after their dreams and goals when we are so down on everything in life?

I had now found the answer to the question I have been searching for all my adult years.

I never gave it a thought, that the mind is a very powerful thing, and that anyone could change it's thinking and thoughts. We all have the power to control our thoughts and action and how we want to feel.

Everyone has something tragic happen to them in ones life time and other things that may upset the apple cart and place a damper on things for awhile, but you can't dwell on this in a negative way. You must try your hardest to make something negative that's happened in life into a positive thing.

They say everything happens for a reason and people including myself wonder why this is. This reason is to make us stronger people and to appreciate what we have now, and to be thankful for all we have in life and not just wanting more and more.

So, my feeling now is that if you give yourself a chance to feel real happiness in your life you will want to keep that positive attitude no matter what road blocks or problems arise.  Just keep thinking everything will be alright and that you can and will beat the word negativity right out of your vocabulary.

Give Positivity a chance and you will see just how it can grow on you!

Always remember,
" Believe you will Achieve in anything in life".

Filling tons of positive feelings; and I liked the way you shared the fact by taking you as an example, which made this topic live; some of the words you used just we can code them as quotes like - clean and sober gave a new outlook on life, Thinking positive can change life - what a nice thought?

the clean life your work really touched and jest kept my self blank for a moment thinking my past present and future.

It is true that I can't change my past and try to correct the present where as your hub made me to take a firm decission on my future.

Really wonderful sharing and thanks a ton for sharing such a great hub; thank you!

Thank you for this article. I really needed to read this because I need as much positivity that I can get. I am usually pretty positive anyway but I especially need it now. The job situation where I live is tough because lots of peope are either out of work, are struggling or they have had their hours cut. Sometimes I think for some reason that are we supposed to just exist until we die? But most of the time I'm pretty positive. I just would like to see things turn around as soon as possible. But with all the corrupt leaders in Congress, I don't know if they even realize how badly the people need to get back to work.

Once again, thanks for the article and I'll keep on tryint ot stay positive.

a_vaha1978, Thank you so much for your comment. I'm glad it helped a little, although it is such a shame about your job and the hours. You are right when so many things have been going wrong in our world and economy it is hard to be a positive person. It will all work out , we will just have to stay as positive as we can and wait, in which I am not a person that like to wait, that's for sure.

Good luck to you and I hope everything works out in your favor. :):):)

Hi there,

Thanks for the well wishes. I actually haven't had a real job since the end of 2007 but I have been trying to keep myself occupied in various ways to cover up the job gap. I've got a website up and running and I'm starting to get more visitors on it which is a big positive. I'm also on Hubpages quite frequently and I will be commenting in order to increase my follower base. The more followers the better right?

Ara.

a_vaha1978 Yes you are correct the more followers the better > I have my blog and write on EzineArticles, Post Runner (TKA)and of course HubPages for the last 14 month. I only write about alcohol addiction and positivity and making dreams come true in hope that these articles will help someone in the world that is or was suffering from alcohol addiction as I did almost 2 years ago. My Google Adsense and HubPages ads are not getting any clicks to make any kind of good money, but I will continue to write and hope my traffic and earning go up. Best of luck to you also on getting that higher traffic as well.
