In this competitive, fast paced, busy world with work & responsibilities to cope with & our desire to progress, succeed & achieve, we are often at cross-purposes with others leading to differences, misunderstandings, conflicts & stress.
We race from birth to death & get stressed out. In our desire to be up there on the highest rung of the ladder of success, we are constantly piling stress on ourselves & are unable to cope. Everything is so fast - fast food , fast money, fast life & we have no time to smell the roses. Sometimes sorrows & disappointments of life weigh heavily on our hearts, when things don't work out & we suffer personal loss or defeat. In all this we get stressed out & our health suffers a set back
It is of utmost importance & much to our benefit that we make a conscious effort to relieve ourselves of the stress by finding ways to relax, refresh ourselves & live a happy peaceful life that God intended for us. Each of us may have different ways of De-stressing. Here are some ways to relieve stress..
Listening to soft soothing music can be very relaxing.
Take a moment to dwell on the beautiful natural surroundings. Spending time admiring nature can be very refreshing.
Spend some time with Pets. Petting them is a great way to DE-stress. Having a fish aquarium & watching the fish swim gracefully has a very soothing effect & is truly relaxing.
Take up to gardening.Growing herbs, vegetables, fruits & flowering plants of your choice is exciting.. It is thrilling to see every new leaf, every bud that blooms, vegetables & fruits on the plants. Watering the plants & caring for them gives us a sense of joy.
Reach out to people. Give love & affection to others & receive love in return.
A body massage is also relaxing & stress relieving.
Be cheerful & positive. Have a good laugh & enjoy the company of friends.
Get good rest & avoid burnouts.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a must. Have a balanced diet, drink plenty of water, drink less alcohol, cut down on caffeine & quit smoking. "Health is wealth".
Exercise is necessary for maintaining good health of mind & body. Walking is the best form of exercise & a morning walk is very refreshing. We can walk whenever possible & take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Taking a short vacation from time to time can keep us refreshed & energetic. We need to step out of the box of the hubbub of our lives for some time.
We must count our blessings & thank God for His infinite love, mercy, compassion & faithfulness to take care of all our needs.. Listen to that still small voice in our hearts reassuring us that God loves us.
Meditation is also a nice way to relax.
So, life can be very stressful but much depends on our attitude & our ability & determination to live life to the full.
