What Is Your Number?

Updated on January 16, 2016

Numbers...*Rolls Eyes*

A Number

I don’t mean to say I am number
And that’s all I mean to anyone
I am a number means I have a choice
I have a choice to be mindful
To watch my step
To watch what I say
To watch what I eat
I know I am more than a number
But I need to cherish this
What I always carry with me now
While I still can
Because I only get this one
And I am lucky to have it
What is my number
I do not know
I don’t want to know
Maybe I do know it
But I am going to live like I don’t have one
But I will take care of what was given to me
Because someday
My number
Will be
Gone

In The End

A lot of us fear pondering on what the end will be. We all hope we would’ve learned all that we need to. I doubt we ever stop learning. We understand more today then what we did yesterday. I believe that we all have angels down here on earth that protect us everyday from disaster. They’re angels that we never meet, but we may pass by and wave to them on the street. Some we have known forever and some we’ll meet tomorrow. Some of them saw us, but we didn’t see them or visa versa. Some of them we aren’t meant to see at all.

Sometimes it is hard to know that if what we are doing is right. There is any easy way to tell: If your best friend tells you to go for it and your enemy tells you not to. Searching your heart is one of the best answers. Also, asking a particular question doesn’t mean you’ll get an answer right away. You’ll get your answer when you’re meant to get it and when it’ll be the most useful to you.

When In Doubt, Be Mindful

What may seem courageous to you could appear as jumping in with your eyes closed to someone else. Fear is instilled in all of us for a reason. We need to think of why that something makes us fearful. Memories of past experiences is a big one. Yes, any uncomfortable memory can be altered, but the person has to be willing to take that risk as well as accept any outcome that stems from it.

The Tough Times

When you know what is the right thing to do, but you can’t do it because you will get reprimanded for it has got to be the hardest ordeal anyone can struggle with. You know what your heart’s desire is, yet you can’t reach it like you used to.

Have you ever had a dream where you are running from something that you find extremely scary? For me, it’s a random unknown person that seems scary because he’s angry and chasing me. Then when you stop running, the person either catches up to you or your dream ends or both.

Don’t let stress get the best of you or to take the best part of you. Yes, work, play...life is stressful, but just understand that it’s there before getting all worked up about it. Yes...it’s possible for you to do that. Allowing yourself to get over stressed on little things shows others that you need to take a deep breath and chill out.

Sometimes...

It may feel as if your number is up. You get sort of an odd dying feeling that you can’t explain inside of you. Maybe it means that something inside you is missing. There’s so much we want to do while we’re here. Some say something like, “If we don’t do what we want to now then we won’t have have time to do it later.” Don’t believe that malarkey. Everyone is given enough time to do what they want, but there are those who choose to sit by and watch others do it before them. We all make excuses that we don’t have the time, the money or the knowledge. We lie to ourselves from the beginning. We are instilled with all the knowledge we need to in order to do whatever we want. Questions arise that we need to ask in order to achieve our goals.

For Example

You want to be a director, let’s say: You observe other directors by watching movie commentaries, ask them questions if you know one, study films especially when it comes to the different angles, locations and how the actor’s acting varies in every scene. There are many aspects of directing so it’s a lot of learning based on observation.

You want to be an actor, let’s say: Study and practice from scripts that write yourself, learn your own style. Don’t watch other actors as to learn how to act because you will just be tempted to copy them. Use over the top emotions when you act so the viewer sees how you as the actor is feeling. The only movie I would recommend studying at all is the beginning of Tootsie because Dustin Hoffman give you tips on how to act. If movies clearly state pointers on acting, take them seriously because they are there for a reason. Also, try to get into a local play. You’ll learn a lot from that experience because emotions are dramatic and change very often. It’s excellent training because you’ll learn how to memorize lines and act along side others who can give you helpful acting tips. Another good tip for acting is: watch music videos, A LOT of acting is done those. The acting is usually over the top so you can completely understand the emotions of all the characters used in the video.

More On Numbers

We have a choice to alter our numbers too. Whether we choose to take the opportunity or not is up to us. How do we do this? By quitting smoking, limiting our caffeine intake, limiting bad foods, exercising etc. That will increase our numbers, but we need to want to change that number first.
