What happens when Reiki Practitioners gather together?

Lots and lots and lots of Reiki Practitioners gathered together last Sunday to spread love to the entire planet. We also got some energy for ourselves while we were at it. We listening to gongs being bashed and a man singing in what is called over-toning, then getting all of us to join in. We also joined as one in a big snake giving the person in front Reiki as we swayed to the celestial music which echoed throughout the huge hall. . All sounds a bit nuts? Perhaps it does, however, talking from personal experience I left feeling really amazing.

The Man singing a note (Peter)) then making a sound which apparantly you make by keeping your tongue on the roof of your mouth then moving it across from one side to the middle (whew) then got us to make another more lower up and down type sound. He told us it took him years to learn and it's called overtoning. Peter is from Edinburgh. I thought at first I was going to feel a bit stupid but low and behold I neither felt stupid, self concious or bored, not one tiny minute of it (and it lasted for 20 minutes).. All the attendees held hands, stood and sang one note. When we ran out of breath we just sang another! Nobody was out of tune and it sounded like a choir of angels. Once again I felt like I was in a trance with angels floating all around me.

It is great to try new things particularly when you are left feeling inspired and refreshed.

Even lunch was scrumptious at the Royal Concert Hall. The space was huge in the large hall on the same floor as the restaurant. Although we were given a bottle of water by Patricia Iris there is also plenty of fountains to replenish from. Water is most important in helping to clear impurities from the body, when giving and receiving any energy work, and after massage. You can imagine what the water was like after every participant gave energy to their water at the same time.

Ann Hall and I were both second year devotees at the Reiki Gathering. Although we are both Reiki Master / Teachers we also have a variety of therapies on board. Ann is a Crystal therapist , has Indian Head Massage and is an Aromatherapist.

Apart from being a Reiki Master Teacher, I also have Indian Head Massage,use art, creative writing, Visualisation,EFT, NLP, and lead people in making Encaustic Art pictures which are usually channelled. By melting coloured bees wax on to an iron we then make your picture on to special paper. Sometimes just by placing the iron on the paper and lifting it up, a real face appears! It's fascinating and very therapeutic. You are then able to 'read' what you have made if you wish.

Lorna's talk this year was about Reiki and Children. Living with reiki children, working with reiki on children and teaching children reiki. Lorna is based in Glasgow and is a Practitioner and Master Teacher of Usui / Tibetian and Karuna® Reiki. She has over 12 years of experience practicing Reiki and a wide range of holistic therapies, including Massage and Reflexology. Lorna conducts individual and group sessions and also teaches private clients, workshops and offer the Massage in Schools Programme to school children. She was instructed in Karuna Reiki by William Lee Rand in Glastonbury 2005 and the attunement was done within the Stonehenge circle. Lorna has worked with people from all walks of life, empowering them to help themselves and look after their own wellbeing. In addition she has supported a comprehensive range of clients, helping those suffering as a result of: Cancer, Stress, Bereavement, HIV / Aids, Behavioural problems, Abuse, and Addiction. Lorna has Enhanced Disclosure (Scotland) for working with youth and children and would like to teach more children Reiki. Bill brought a lot of energy and laughter to his talk about Hypnotherapy. Many years of experience allows Bill to present in such a casual and easy to listen to manner, and his Irish accent which he thought we couldn't really detect due to his long stay in this country, added a personal touch to his knowledge. I guess he takes the scary out of hypnotherapy (like we all think we are going to be running about eating onions and thinking it's an apple).

Bill is a teacher of Hynotherapy and also NLP and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). Bottom line is it saves us being in 15 years of therapy!.

Peter is a wonderful young man who held his audience for a long time while we clung on to every word and note which flowed from his mouth. Listening to Peter and singing myself, brought great joy and hope into my whole being. I just know he will be doing such glorious work wherever he goes on the planet. Glasgow was certainly graced with his beauty, humility and humour.

The gonging of the huge gongy thing was listened to with closed eyes and I personally felt as though I were being picked up and carried away to some magical land in the clouds. This was very interesting because when it was gonged (so to speak) it was really loud and yet instead of getting or shattering the nerves it felt like it was going into the cells and clearing them all out.   This lady is obviously very sensitive talented spiritual being.
