Winning a Weight Loss Challenge

Updated on May 5, 2013
Source

It seems that everyone wants to lose weight before summer gets here. What I have noticed recently is the hardest part is getting started. Even though I am on a weight loss challenge at work. I have wanted to drop the extra pounds for quite some time. If you continue reading you will learn how I got started and managed to drop 32.5 pounds in 8 weeks. So if your still interested keep reading.

First of all back in January I was like everyone else. I wanted to lose weight and followed advice given by others. At this time I was about 300 pounds. I just didn't have the proper motivation to get started and keep me going. This is where failure begins. Remember without failure we wouldn't need to have success stories. This went on for about 3 months. I just could not find the time nor the energy to keep the workouts going.

In Febuary it was like a dream come true. My employer started a Biggest Loser Challenge. It was where the winner recieved $200 cash and 2 paid days off. Pretty lucrative prizes. It only costs 10 bucks to get started and might just serve as the proper motivation. I joined.

On March 10th 2013 was our initial weigh in. I stepped on the scale and the number read 293.5. Pretty sickening in reality. But, my journey was just beginning. The first week I lost 10.5 pounds. This was due to a lot of fluid loss and exercising. I found the motivation. By the 5th week of the competition I was sitting at 264 pounds. I just couldnt believe that I lost that much in just a few weeks. I managed to reach my personal goal of 10%. I was quite satisfied. But, far from finished.

Looking For Help

The competition is just about over. I finished my first 5K ever. I even went as far as recuiting family members to run with me. Never thought that pain could feel so good. My last weigh in was 261 pounds. Knowing I was in second place in the competition, I needed help to get me over the 3 pounds a week hump. After losing 5 pounds a week then dropping to 3 discouragment was setting in.

Along came something at GNC. I bought what is called Thermo Burst Hard Core. Great stuff, it is full of caffiene and will give you the energy to keep moving when you want to quit. I took this once about 4 pm and slept fine that night. So, there is no worry about losing sleep with it. Also, it helps heat up your core so you can sweat those extra pounds off quicker. The bottle also states that it assists with losing upto 12 times the calories after your workout.

My Routine

There are many workout routines out there. The following is what I like to follow in burning calories and boosting my metabolism. I take 1 or 2 GNC Thermo Burst Harcore tablets about 1 hour before heading to the gym. When I get there I have just the right amount of energy to get started.

I start out on the treadmill, walking for 20 minutes /3.5 miles per hour/1% incline. From there I head to do crunches. 50 crunches then some curling. Start small and work up. You want to do 3 sets of 12 where the 12th curl is a bit harder than the first. Back to the treadmill.

The thing here is 20 more minutes at 3.5 miles per hour. You want to keep your heart pumping. Back to crunches (50 more). Now try some bench presses. If your alone, for safety reasons use the machine. Same thing set the weight at what you can do, where the 12th rep is a bit harder than the first. 3 sets of 12.

Back to the treadmill. 20 minutes at 3.5 miles per hour. Now onto something for the triceps or legs. I am sure by now that your getting the idea. This is where the fun starts. I took the GNC Thermo Burst Hardcore yesterday and today I weight myself at 256. Thats a remarkable 5 pound loss in just a few days. Will this stuff work without the proper eating habits and exercise. Probably not. Its not a miracle drug. It just gives you the energy to keep going when others quit.

I hope that you learned more about weight loss. If you want to follow me in my journey check out my MY FAT FREE GOAL.
