Will subacromial decompression surgery significantly reduce the pain in my shoulder and arm

12 months ago I ruptured my bicep tendon playing racket sports and I suffer from a chronic ache at the top of my arm in the bicep region which the physio says is common. In addition when I now play racket sports my shoulder area also becomes inflamed and painful. I am in my mid sixties and want to continue playing. The orthopaedic specialist gave me a scan, cortisone injection and a course of physio to try and remove the inflammation. I only got partial relief and now he has suggested I consider subacromial decompression surgery which he claims will provide a significant improvement although n
