   i only waited 24hrs after taking my methadone and took my subutex and felt really bad what...
   
   should i do stop the subutex and wait for me to go into withdrawl from the methdone?

   Suboxone has a chemical in it that makes the methadone suddely stop working. So if you are taking methadone daily and if you are addicted, and then you start taking suboxone, the suboxone will cancel the methadone out and you will go into severe withdrawls. You are supposed to wait at least 72 hours after taking methadone to start taking suboxone. I was on 100 milligrams a day of methadone for 2 years and I waited almost 80 hours to take suboxone and still went into severe withdrawls. I cant understand why your doctor or someone at the methadone clinic didn't tell you this.

   from what I understand is you have to wait 72 hours with out taking anything before you start the suboxone if you wait anymore then 72 hours yes you will go through severe withdrawals 72 hours is the magic number for some reason I recently went through this with one of my best friend but also know that if you intend to quit suboxone is a wonderful thing but it is not like methadone you can't hop on and off every time you jump off and back on again it becomes less effective and your success rate is lowered but the upside is that if you continue to take it as prescribed for 6mos to a year your body starts to create the blocker on it's own and taking it will no longer be necessary but only quit taking it when your doctor says it is time or it may not work for you anymore

   This drug is an opiate blocker.  Before you decide to self medicate with anything, you need to get the facts.  Did you know that if you get into a car accident while taking this, you cannot have surgery?  Please folks, find out the details of what you are taking before you take it.
