Reebok TrainTone Slimm Toning Shoes

Reebok have a fine pedigree of producing fun, fashionable and comfortable shoes and were behind the huge fitness sensation of the 1980’s, which filled Aerobics halls and made fitness fun for women.

It should come as no surprise to hear that they are also leading the way in the latest fitness footwear craze to get more out of exercise by a change in footwear. The Reebok Easytone range of toning shoes includes some of the most popular toning shoes on the market, and arguably the most comfortable.

The surprise is that despite producing Easytone shoes for walking, and the Runtone for running, it has taken them some time to get women toning harder in fitness classes and at the gym. I guess that following their drive to get women out of the gym and working out whilst walking with the EasyTone, they perhaps felt a little reluctant to send them all back to the gym with their TrainTone Slimm toning shoes.

The recent release of the Reebok Traintone Slimm, or simply, Reebok Traintone in the United Kingdom, fills the gap in the Reetone collection and now caters for walking, casual wear, jogging, running and indoor exercising. Easytone sandals for summer and Easytone boots complete the range offering a toning session whenever you walk.

As you would expect, the Traintone Slimm retains the fun, funky and fashionable look of the Easytone, with a range of colours and a choice of uppers to maximise comfort and breathability.

To cope with the extra level of effort, the trainers feature a Play Dry moisture wicking lining and highly breathable construction with synthetic mesh uppers to keep the feet cool, dry and comfortable. If you prefer a more luxurious finish, the shoes are also sold with a full soft leather upper, for an ultra comfortable fit.

As with the Easytone, the Traintone Slimm uses the Smootfit system for the lining which made the Easytone such a popular choice. The velvety smooth lining is seamless, with all interior joins well away from the feet to prevent abrasion.

Reebok TrainTone Slimm shoes have the perfect feel, comfort and stability for working out with confidence, and will get the muscles in your legs working up to 28% harder, targeting the buttocks, calves, hamstrings and quads for faster toning and better muscle definition. The TrainTone Slimm features an instability pod design to generate extra muscle activity as with the Easytone, with a low profile design better suited to the range of movements at the gym and in exercise classes. 

Traintone series uses instability pods in the outsole to create small instabilities when walking, standing and stretching. The air-filled pods compress when weight is exerted, and the air shifts creating a slightly unstable base.

The body adjusts to the imbalance by triggering more muscle fibres to fine tune balance, and in doing so increases toning throughout the lower body. Whilst the instabilities are barely noticeable, the extra effort adds up during a workout and can really be felt in the legs after a good gym session.

In contrast to the Easytone which has 3 instability pods in the outsole, the TrainTone Slimm uses just two. The heel pod is similar; however the forefoot pad has been redesigned with a flatter profile and does not extend so far to the forefoot. The toe pod has been increased in size and replaced with a pad for extra grip with a forefoot groove for a natural flex.

The smaller forefoot pod and low profile design improves balance and stability, allowing wearers to exercise more vigourously. The shoes are wider in the forefoot than other shoes in the range to improve balance, and for anyone with wide feet they are a great choice. They are fine for narrow feet if worn with thick socks, but other than that they are true to size, comfortable to wear, and you will really feel the difference when working out.

If you only want to buy one pair of toning sneakers for working out, these are a great choice. You won’t get such a large toning effect when on the treadmill as you would get with the Runtone, but they are great all round indoor toning shoe for all activities.
