Who said that technology gifts are for geeks? Even though it's traditional to buy flowers and gift baskets for your Mom on Mother's Day, she might appreciate something different. Like a new laptop, an eReader, or a new mobile phone. Here is a list of the best technology gifts for Mother's Day this year.

1. iPhone 5

If you think that your Mom won't appreciate an iPhone or if you think she won't be able to learn how to use it, you are wrong. Because iPhones are so intuitive, even a person who has very little experience handling gadgets will find it easy to use. In fact, my Mom found it easier to use than an ordinary mobile phone with buttons. She especially loves the dictation functionality offered in the new iPhone 4S. Now she dictates her shopping lists and other things she needs to remember to the phone. She also loves the fact that she can increase the font size using the Settings menu.

2. Kindle Fire

If your Mom loves to read, then the new Kindle Fire is a truly great gift. This gadget from Amazon is more than a simple eReader, as its features and functionality match those of a basic tablet PC. The best thing about Kindle Fire is its ease of use and comfortable screen size. It will suit any person and will bring a lot of new interesting thing in your Mom's life.

3. Digital photo frame

If you are looking for a more affordable gift, then nothing can beat a classy digital photo frame. It will show your Mom how much you love her and how much you value your relationship. There are some lovely examples from Sony, Kodak and less famous brands like Nix.

4. Digital camera

A new compact digital camera is another great gift idea for Mother's Day. Even if your Mom has one, it's always worth buying her an upgrade as a present. Digital cameras are evolving so quickly that new ones are so much better than the ones bought a couple of years ago. Check out stylish models from Sony and Nikon Coolpix.

5. Laptop

Even if your Mom has a laptop, you should consider getting her a new one. Why? Because most likely hers has a glossy screen, which is very uncomfortable to use. Samsung released some great laptops with different screen sizes that have a non-glossy screen and a very comfortable to use keyboard. Samsung Series 3 NP300V4A is a good choice.

Hopefully these gift ideas will help you find the best present for your Mom this year.
