Christmas season at Marikina Riverpark, a tiangge at Night

Updated on December 10, 2010

Marikina River Park at Night

Marikina Riverpark This Christmas season

This is the 2nd Christmas since the famous "Ondoy disaster", and looking at the River park now you really wont see any trace of what it had been through.... especially at night...Tiangge or markets are arranged along side each other, fastfoods are everywhere, there are places intended for kids, there are Joyrides and everything you can imagine to add to a very festive mood, even during night time.

The Tiangge

Mini Bridge that connects to the other side of the River

The mini bridge was installed in the middle of the river so that people can have access to the other side which has other things to offer. Most of the program is held near the Wonder Park. The mouth watering shawarma, barbecue and sandwiches  are here.

The Kidztown obviously had things that kids will enjoy.

The Shoe Display in the middle of the Mini Bridge

One of the most eye catching attraction of the The River Park is the Giant shoe in the middle of Mini Bridge.  This obviously highlighted that Marikina is always known as the Shoe Capital of the Philippines.

Enjoying the River Park at Night

Although I was alone I still enjoyed observing and shopping at the Tiannge, I guess the number of people around is enough to make me forget I was actually alone, I  only realized it when I need to take photos of myself and I  have no one to do it for me.  I just can't take chances with the strangers of course... so  I had no choice but to take photos of myself (LOL).

Just be careful when you go there, be attentive of your belongings, because it's Chrsitmas season and normally unwanted elements also roam the area to collect something from their unsuspecting victims....

Looking at Marikina Riverparks in a different light

When ever I passed by the Riverpark, I can't help but associate it with "HOPE". Indeed this place is a favorite of almost all major typhoons in the country, even before typhoon "Undoy".

After every disaster, the Place always stands up much better,  as if nothing worst had happened to it.

The Marikina River Park as if made to exist to make us realize that there is hope in every defeat, there is life beyond destruction.... that all of us have the chance to recover...just have faith in HIM..
