30th Birthday Gift Ideas

Updated on February 17, 2012

Someone who is 30 (let me state the obvious here) - is no longer 20! For this reason however, 30th birthdays will often put people into deep reflection, as the man or woman who enjoys getting older are a rare breed. A lot of people will get into the whole event of it, and others will pretend it isn't happening - but whoever you are birthday shopping for, getting a decent set of ideas for 30th birthday gifts to work off is important.

Now I don't mean to be Captain Obvious, but here is a thought - select birthday gifts that the person will have an interest in, like something related to their pursuits or hobbies. Also have a chat with family members and ensure you don't get them something they already have (nothing worse then that).

If the birthday person is a man, then a good line of thought is gadgets, tools or perhaps sporting equipment. A decent case of microbrew beer or some of his favorite wine is also a great choice. If he loves golf, what about a new set of clubs or balls? Or choose some sports paraphernalia from his favorite game whether it be football, baseball or basketball.

Does he travel a lot? How about getting him some travel type gadgets or accessories, like a money belt or funky bag locks. Fun USB equipment like fake fish tanks or coffee heaters can also be great for the office worker.

How about presents for that special birthday woman? Well the safe option is always a robust package combination at the local beauty spa that is massage and facial inclusive. You could always get her a new funky iPhone or iPad case, or what about a beautiful leather journal? A juicer, a new handbag, or maybe a real surprise like a chocolate or ice cream maker! Keep in mind that all of these ideas can also work great for other milestone birthdays too, like for 40th birthday gifts.
