Unique Tech Gifts

Stores, store catalogs, and the internet are all filled with unique gifts of the tech kind that anyone would be delighted to receive. Some of the gifts are, of course, outrageously priced, but there are some tech gifts that are very reasonably priced.

While we think of gift giving especially at Christmas, that doesn't have to be the only time we give. At anytime, receiving a unique gift, or any gift, is special. Some of the gifts mentioned will change and it's always recommended you make sure you buy the latest version or the version that best suits the recipient.

Make it Christmas in July. Start the quest early.

Some of the unique gifts are just for fun and others have become a necessary part of the everyday, technology dependent world we live in today.

My list includes items I found in catalogs that made me say Wow! and other tech gift ideas I found on line. All are under $100.00.

Unique Gifts for the Kids

For the kids I found the Interactive Furby. I can't quite get a handle on what age kid this is for. I do know that it is labeled for children over the age of 6. This little toy interacts with your mobile device and interacts with you. It talks, it laughs when its furry little body is tickled. With music from your mobile device, it dances and rolls it little digital eyes. The Interactive Furby comes in colors like teal blue, black, orange or purple. In fact, it's an odd little toy that may be as much fun for an adult as it is for the children. The Interactive Furby can be found on sale for as low as $54.00. Not bad for the laughs.

Also for the kids, I found that Amazon sells a Vtech Spin and Learn Color Flashlight for $25.00. It is a learning toy and by pushing the ladybug button, your child activates neat learning activities such as identifying colors and shapes. Who knew a flashlight could teach about animals, colors or numbers?

A huge best seller for kids is the Leapfrog LeapPad 1 Explorer Learning Tablet. At Amazon the popular tablet sells fro $59.97. The LeapPad is similar to the Leapfrog Explorer. The LeapPad puts worlds of learning at your child's fingertips with ebooks, learning games, music and even a camera and recorder in a durable little package. The LeapPad is already providing hours of fun and learning for children and at that price, LeapPad 1 seems like a bargain.

Tech Gifts for Adults

On the practical side, a good tech gift for anyone with multiple devices, including the traveler, there is the Restore Universal Charging Valet. This little gadget will make all of your devices happy. It has 3 power tips, car adapter, wall plug and, as an added bonus, a travel case. It sells for a reasonable $39.99 at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Anything can be converted into a speaker with a Rock-It 3.0 Portable Vibration Speaker. You merely stick the small speaker on something, a cup for instance, and the object becomes the speaker. This may be especially attractive to the busy teen who is often not in one place. The price rolls in at a reasonable $19.99, is rechargeable and can be found at Bed Bath and Beyond.

A hand held Wand Scanner is an easy way to save your family pictures and documents, along with any receipts you want to catalog. The photo, book or document up to 8.5" x 14" in size is scanned directly to a memory card. The Wands even come in colors and is priced at $79.99 in the store. Nifty little time saver.

If you have a smart phone and you use that smart phone as a camera quite often, the Zoom lens is for you. You can purchase a 10x zoom lens that attaches to your smartphone. There are some zoom lens that are made specifically for the iPhone and others that are universal. It's a great idea if your phone takes good pictures and you are traveling light. Prices range from the high teens online to nearly $50.00 at Bed Bath and Beyond.

If you are a music lover and still have not converted your vinyls (I know you're out there), the iLP Turntable Conversion System. These handy gadgets have been around for a few years, but they still make a unique tech Christmas gift or gift for any other time of the year. The system will transfer your LPs to your iPhone, iPad or iTouch and you don't need your computer to make the conversion. At $99.99, the music lover will appreciate your thoughtfulness because, alas, some of the LP versions are not available for downloading.

There thousands of choices you can make, but hopefully, these suggestions for unique gifts of the tech kind will make your shopping a little less stressful and much more enjoyable. It's hard to go wrong with a tech gift. There is something for everyone, young and old.
