3 Favorite NOLA French Quarter Restaurants
NOLA French Quarter Dining
It's no wonder that great food is what comes to mind when one thinks about the city of New Orleans.
There are so many great places to eat in NOLA that it would be difficult to try everything unless you actually lived in the city and dined out every night. The good new is that you'll actually have a hard time finding a bad restaurant in the city.
The French Quarter is a popular dining destination for tourists and locals alike. With so many places to choose among, locals and visitors alike can find a great meal in "The Quarter" just about any time of the day or night. Here are a few of my favorite French Quarter dining spots.
3 Favorite French Quarter Restaurants
1. Deanie's Seafood
Deanie's Seafood in the French quarter is an excellent place to enjoy an authentic Creole seafood lunch or dinner. The restaurant is a favorite of local residents as well as tourists, offering a wide variety of crab, crawfish, fish, and shrimp entrees, as well as many other choices. Rather than brining diners a basket of bread to start with, Deanie's serves a big bowl of spicy new potatoes served with butter. You can nibble on potatoes while you choose from the great selections on the restaurant's menu.
If you're a fan of crawfish, try the Crawfish Quartet. It features crawfish prepared four different ways: etoufee, au gratin, fried, and dressing balls. The crawfish dressing balls from Deanie's rank near the top of my list of all-time favorite foods. Other menu options include barbecue shrimp pasta, stuffed shrimp, Poboys (shrimp, oyster, catfish, crawfish or soft shell crab) and much more.
Deanie's Seafood is located at 841 Iberville Street. View the complete menu here.
2. Red Fish Grill
The Red Fish Grill describes itself as New Orleans' definitive casual seafood restaurant, and that is truly an accurate statement. The restaurant's Hickory Grilled Red Fish is a superb entrée. However, the Red Fish Grill offers much more than just seafood. The restaurant's Hickory Grilled Angus Filet Mignon entrée is the best steak that I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Other menu items Alligator Sausage & Seafood Gumbo, BBQ Oysters, Louisiana Soft Shell Crab, and much more.
The Red Fish Grill is located at 115 Bourbon Street. The full menu can be viewed here.
3. Tony Moran's
Even though Tony Moran's is on Bourbon Street in the heart of the action, you won't know it once you step inside this lovely Italian restaurant. The restaurant offers upscale Italian dining in a white linen environment, yet you can "come as you are" in your comfortable tourist attire.
The restaurant offers an excellent selection of pasta dishes, including Fettuccine Carbonara, Pasta Aglio e Olio, Penne Pasta Alfredo and many others. Entrée options include Chicken Parmigiano, Grilled Ribeye Steak, Veal Piccata, New Orleans Style Fresh Fish and much more.
Tony Moran's is located at 240 Bourbon Street. Click here for the full menu.
Many Other Options
These are just a few examples of the many, many places to
enjoy a great meal in the French Quarter. It's a safe bet that you'll find great food anywhere you go in this part of NOLA, as well as anywhere else in the city!
