If you're from Texas you know exactly where 6th Street is.

If you're not from Texas, then you're probably thinking it's between 5th and 7th.

Oh sure, lots of towns have a 6th Street, but 6th Street in Austin, Texas is like no other. It's probably the best known street in Texas.

The times I've visited 6th Street, I've seen such a variety of people all in one place. It's nothing to see wealthy business people, local governmental officials, bikers, scantily-clad women and families with kids walking all walking around on 6th Street. There seems to be no age limit, no dress-code and no restrictions along 6th Street. It's definitely an adventure.

The Incredible List of Business Establishments in the 6th Street/Downtown Area of Austin

The following list is only a portion of the many businesses you can find the 6th Street/Downtown area of Austin. Some of these are on 4th & 5th Street, and some are on side streets in the area, but the bulk of them are on 6th Street. East 6th Street seems to attract a younger rowdier college crowd (University of Texas). West 6th Street seems to attract a preppy trendier, bit more mature crowd. 4th Street attracts more business professionals with it's fancier establishments and pricier menu. Links to their own websites are included when available. Some of them have some incredibly classy webites, too!
