A Bikers Wedding
After as horrible track record with the ladies I decided that being single out on the open highway was the best thing for me.. the wind through my hair... LOL what little I have... never knowing where I was going to rest my head from day to day... I was finally at peace with my God... and we had a deal no women unless they loved to ride...
Well I stop at this Christian coffee house one Saturday night and I meet "the one" we talked and had a few laughs... as time went by we started going to church together... talking on phones to the batteries went dead...
Then I asked her to go on a toy run with me... it was Nov... cold and damp that day we meet at the diner She got on the back and off we went... the temperature never got above 35 that day... on the way back it dropped down in to the mid 20s if not colder my hands were numb on the handle bars as we rode back in the darkness... friends offered to let her ride in the truck... but wild horses wasn't getting her off the back of that bike of mine...
We had our wedding on 8-8-08 we choose that date to make it easy for me to remember our anniversary. we actually had two weddings on the same day... one was legal in a courthouse before a judge... This picture is in front of the court house. my new daughter in the sidecar... my wife hiked up her wedding dress and slung her leg over the iron horse as we rode off... this is the picture that appeared in the paper the next day..
Off To Get Hitched ~ Cant Run Now
Well after the court house wedding we had a really nice sit down lunch at a local restaurant... was just family, my stepfather has alzheimers so we keep everything at the first wedding very small... although just riding the bikes to the restraunt was an adventure... people honking and beeping along the way... From here my sister in law took some really wonderful pictures for us... then it was off to the second wedding of the day for us... the biker wedding
We held this outside along a river in a public park.. to form the pulpit to be married at we lined bikes up with an isle in the middle for the bride to walk down... my stepfather is in an orange harley shirt and walked her down the isle of motorcycles he has alzheimers so he kept asking why he was wearing such a bright shirt..
This was truly a celebration of family and friends... blue jeans was the order of the day...
The Preacher rides a Harley Davidson Ultra Classic, and that his main transportation.. He is a pastor at the local rescue mission... we met with him a few times before the wedding and he finally agreed to do this for us...
My wife is deaf in one ear so I singed a very small part of our vows to her...
The wedding reciption was held at the local TGIFridays...
As we rode to the receiption people went crazy... I think it was seeing my wife white wedding dress hiked up around her waist arms wrapped around me, my new daughter in the sidecar... a parade of motorcycles behind me... what more could a man ask for...
Looking back a biker wedding was the only way for us to go...
I love you sunshine....
Biker Wedding
I have been to many weddings most of them very formal... stuff black tie affairs... this was a party... the begining of a long loving life together... two hearts riding as one...
I hope to write about how we pulled off this biker wedding and still enjoy the day in the near future...
