The Value Of A Smile
When Is The Last Time You Smiled ?
Can you remember the last time you smiled? What caused you to smile from ear to ear? Do you know of anyone that is always smiling and wonder to yourself what causes them to smile so much? There are many people that are just plain ole happy people, although I haven't found many that I know in my life so far.
When everything going on in our world and our economy, it's kind of hard to break a smile, although there are those that can manage to do so each and everyday.
So many people have lost their jobs and are on the verge of losing their homes due to no income coming in to support their bills and everything we need to live our everyday lives.
Tell me how these people could ever smile facing foreclosure and looking for work that is just not out there to get. Companies laying off people weather temporary of permanent, what ever the case may be, they still have no job including now my wife. Not something to smile about right, but I want to share with all of you something I found in my garage while cleaning out and getting ready to move to my new home by the sea. What I found was in my Father's paperwork that he had held on to for many years and the reason I know this was because of the condition of the paper in which it was written on.
The Value Of A Smile
It costs nothing, but creates much. It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give. It happens in a flash, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None are so rich that they can get along without it, and none so poor, but are richer for it's benefits.
It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and nature's best antidote for trouble. Yet, it can not be bought, begged, borrowed or stolen, for it is something that is no earthy good to anybody till it is given away.
If you meet someone who is too tired or discouraged to give you a smile, please give one of yours. For nobody needs a smile so much as those who have none left to give.
SMILING AND HAPPINESS
So, the way I see it is that even on your worse day or your darkest moment try to take time out to smile. as hard as it might seem to do. I do believe having a smile at least once or possibly more in your day will make you feel great and if you have that smile on your face you are smiling inside even for only a minute.
I am going to try my hardest to get a smile out of myself many times a day from now on and when I try to make myself smile I can see just how a brief smile can make one happy, including myself.
Smiling really works and just might rub off on those that haven't smiled in a very long time. Think of your past of something that happened that was funny and re-run that moment in time and see how that funny thing from your past will bring out the smile in you.
