Ab Rocket Review

Ab Rocket

The ab rocket is an as seen on tv product I've been waiting to try. It's so hard to find ab machines that work for everyone and I've come to the conclusion you only get out of it what you put into it. All of these products seem to be great and each one has its pro's, but if you don't keep up with the program you're gonna be disappointed.

So having said that, the Ab Rocket certainly looks like a cool product. The idea is that it will make the regular boring ab exercises easier to do, more fun and more effective. And I guess it's true because if you're doing crunches and sit ups on the floor you certainly aren't gonna enjoy them.

The ab rocket exerciser will isolate core muscles and you'll benefit from having good form during your reps. But if you watch the Ab Rocket commercial below you will see that people in the video are still having to work out and work out pretty hard. Take a look, and of course, enjoy all the regular As Seen On TV pitch ploys. There always a hoot.

Ab Rocket Commercial

See What I mean? The ab rocket may make exercising easier but you're still gonna have to do it.

Now, it's true what the commercial says that you just have to sit and rock and if you follow the program you'll get a nice burn and probably hit muscles that you haven't been able to reach doing crunches with bad form but the commercial points out that you need to maintain a sensible low calorie diet. That's the standard advice it seems with any of these products.

So here is how the ab rocket works. While you are resting on the rollers and begin to "rock", the machine provides support for the neck and back. When you are on your own, you obviously don't get this. The cool thing is that there is resistance when you are leaning back and this Ab Rocket resistance also gives you a little lift off on the way back up.

When I do crunches on my own, the lift off from the floor is the hardest part and where I seem to tug on my neck or get find some ache which provides me with my excuse to quit. So the Ab Rocket really does help in this area.

Now, my favorite part of the commercial is where they liken to the ab rocket to getting a massage. I'm not gonna make that same analogy but I will say that it is NOT uncomfortable. But keep in mind that I am not a large person. If you are really heavy, chances are you will not fit comfortably in the Ab Rocket even though the exercises are easy enough for beginners.

To really get a good workout from the ab rocket you really do need to do the recommended exercises. Just the standard crunch will not melt away the pounds and give you the shape you want. Your going to have to master the reverse crunch and the oblique crunches shown in the videos. These are great exercises in any ab routine and I will admit that even though they can be tough, they are ALLOT easier with the Ab Rocket.

I do like the pilates moves that can be done using this machine but I cannot be sure they are any type of replacement for real pilates. There's a few moves you can do and they feel pretty good, but don't assume the ab rocket is for pilates. To me it's just a crunch machine, and a pretty good one at that.

However I cannot review the Ab Rocket higher than what I think is the best as seen on TV product to date.  The Perfect Punch lets you train MMA style just like real fighters but with very low impacted.  You get fighting gloves and a resistance cord to guide. you.  It is definitely the product that it being most talked about now, especially as the ab rocket begins to fade away.
