This summer there are parties, events and fun that people want to look their best for.. a lot of people do this by wearing color contact lenses.

Some want to enhance their eye color, some want to change it completely! Whatever the case their are some things you should know before choosing color contacts, such as safety tips and well, which ones you should choose!

Different Kinds Of Color Contacts

Color contact lenses come in different kinds, the three kinds are: visibility tints, enhancement tints and opaque color tints.

A visibility tint usually has a light blue or green tint to it, this is simply to help you see it better when putting it on and removal. It also helps you see it if you drop it, but since it only has a slight color to it so in most cases they don't change your eye color at all.

An Enhancement tint is a solid but translucent tint that is slightly darker then a visibility tint. An enhancement tint does change our eye color, but only very faintly. As the name implies they enhance your existing eye color.. to make it more visible and dramatic.

Color tints, (opaque tints) completely change your eye color. They have a deeper color so if you have dark eyes you will need this kind to change your eye color. These come in many colors including Blue, Green, hazel, Gray, Violet, and more... The center of this lenses however is clear, where your pupils are so you can still see! ;)

Color tints are mostly used in theatrical performances. When wanting to change eye colors you want to make sure that your color completely changed.

Risks Of Color Contacts

While a lot of people consider color contact lenses as some of the most fashionable eye wear there are disadvantages to wearing these.

Since people have different sized pupils, it makes it hard to find the perfect size. Even though there are different sized lenses for different users, your pupil is still changing size due to light changes, and darkness... at night your pupils will be larger and if the clear part is too small your view can be cut of by the colored part.

Be Careful of this, compromised sight is no joking matter, especially if your driving, wearing colored contacts while driving, especially at night would not be recommended if your pupil changes size dramatically.

If have a persitent problem with you contacts you should consult your eye doctor.

Sharing Contacts

Sharing contact lenses and color lenses are a bad idea. Contact lenses and color contact lenses are both medical devices that are fitted to the particular persons eye... and the specifications of each person. Sharing contact lenses can also be hazardous due to being able to transmit harmful bacteria.. this can lead to eye infections or other potentially dangerous eye conditions.

Color contacts like conteact lesnes need to be properly cleaned with the right cleaning products, to find out which ones will work for your lenses consult your doctor.

How To Get Color Contacts

You do need a prescription to have color contacts lenses, if you see them being sold at a flea market or any such place they are being sold illegally. Since if not properly prescribed these lenses can raise chances of blindness or eye injury it makes sense that you will need a prescription.

Other illiegal sale of color contact lenses have been found at gas stations, beauty salons and novelty shops.
