Bathroom Art

Updated on May 28, 2023

Bathroom art is an important way of finishing off the look of your new bathroom or just simply freshening up the look of your old bathroom, either way, if you choose the art right then you can create quite a dramatic effect.

Recently I had my bathroom completely revamped with a new bathroom suite and plastered walls with new flooring, to compliment this look I went for white walls so I could add colour to the art that was chosen by my wife, she went a blue/green colour scheme and found the perfect 3 piece sea/scenery canvas that just lit up the room.

I will add the photo of that art below.

There are a number of styles you can go for, from colour to compliment the bathroom as I have done or something a bit more dramatic such as black and white.

Also, you don't have to use ocean-inspired themes you can use whatever you feel is right.

I have seen a bathroom with a huge black and white canvas of the Chrysler building and it works, just saying it out loud makes it sound weird and you wouldn't think it would work but it does, remember to be imaginative.

Now the picture to the right is the piece of bathroom art that my wife wanted to incorporate into our newly remodelled bathroom, it has a nice mix of blues and greens which meant we had a few options when it came to matching a colour scheme for the rest of the room.

We went for a blue-green tinge to our bath mat and towels and even found some little candles that were a perfect match for the colour of the sea in our canvas.

Canvas

Canvas is the most modern piece of bathroom art available today and there are various options out there.

Option number one is to have a one-piece canvas depicting whatever you like, and option two is to have a 3 piece split canvas like my one which breaks it up and adds a bit of style in my opinion, or option number three is to have a canvas depicting a photo that you yourself have taken which adds the personal touch.

Obviously, it costs a lot more to print your own photos onto canvas but it is a brilliant way of showing off your holiday snaps or kids photos. Canvas prints are my favourite form of artwork at the moment and if matched carefully with the colour scheme they can really finish a room.

Wooden Framed Art

Most bathrooms would be hard pushed not to find some wood so if you are clever you can match the colour and style of wood to a large frame to hang your pictures in, whether it be dark oak or a lighter maple style of wood if you match up the frame to the rest of the wood then you will have a perfect way to finish your bathroom.

I prefer the darker woods myself but that is just my personal preference. Then what you choose to put in your frame is your choice, putting your own pictures in costs considerably less than canvas and maybe this is the option to choose if you are short of cash but wish to show off your pictures.

Chrome Framed Art

What you will find if you walk into virtually any modern-styled bathroom is a piece of chrome, be it a towel holder, towel radiator or simply a chrome bathroom cabinet.

It is only fitting that some people would like to match these items up with a chrome-framed piece of bathroom art, Again you can use your own photos and frame them beautifully in a chrome frame.
