Carnival Games for Nintendo Wii

There are six mini games and one activity in the Fortune Way area of the Carnival in Carnival Games.

Alley Ball - This is basically Skee Ball. It is pretty simple to play with you just flicking the Wii remote up to roll the ball, but it is a little tough to master. I found the controls oddly sensitive to the point it often rolled the ball when I was bringing my ball backwards. It took some practice to get it aimed right and to roll it with the right amount of power (how fast you flick the Wii remote relates to how fast it rolls) to get it in the 100 hole, but it turned out quite easy and fun to play after the first few times, although it stil is hard to always get the 100 for me. You unlock Dino Scales if you get a Turkey (3 100 hole shots in a row). You get a small prize if you score between 110 and 180 points, a medium prize if you score between 190 and 390, and a large prize if you score over 400 points.

Test Your Strength - In this game you shake the Wii remote to build up power and then swing down the Wii remote while pressing the B button to try to hit the target hard enough to ring the bell. Timing is also important because hitting it when the target is green vs. when it is red or yellow it goes higher. You need to get the power up the green of the power meter on the right and hit the target when green to hit the bell successfully. You get three attempts to hit the bell. This is definitely an active type game for the arm you are using, but at the same time it is kind of frustratingly hard. If you are an average Joe (i.e. do not hit the bell, but get high enough on the pole for this rank) you get a small prize, if you hit the bell 1 time out of 3 tries you get a medium prize, and if you hit the bell on all three attempts you get a large prize.

Super Alley Ball - This is unlocked once you are able to upgrade to the largest prize in Alley Way or Test Your Strength. This is similar to Alley Ball, but a little more challenging. In this one you have 10 balls. You try to avoid the bumper obstacles. You lose the rest of your balls if you hit the bumpers three times (i.e. 3 strikes and your out!). There are no tickets or prizes to try and earn in this one. You basically just try to get a high score. I found it pretty challenging once you get to round 3.

Hoops - In this game you shoot baskets and try to make as many as you can in 30 seconds. You throw the ball in a baseball throw like motion with the Wii remote. It is actually much harder than it looks, as you have to get the power aspect right as well as aiming straight. It is kind of like real carnival games in that it seems rigged to not work. After a few times through I was able to get the hang of it and it turned out to be one of the easier games to master. Each basket is worth 2 points. You get a small prize if you score 6 points, a medium prize if you score 12 points, and a large prize if you score 24 points.

Collection Plate - In this game you try to get a coin to land on a plate. You lock on to the target plate with the A button and then you throw the coins in a frisbee throw type motion with the Wii remote. You have five tries. This can be pretty tough to master. You get a small prize if you get a coin on one plate, you get a medium prize if you get coins on 2 plates, and you get a large prize if you get coins on 3 plates. You can unlock a bird beak if you stick it on the green sparkly plate and a party hat if you stick it on the purple sparkly plate.

Super Hoops - This game is unlocked when you get the largest prize from Hoops or Collection Plate. This is much like Hoops, but more challenging as the hoop moves around not just the normal back and forth motion. The hoop also moves up and down and turns side to side. This is another just going for the high score game and not one with prizes to earn.

The Great Swami - This is an activity in the Fortune Way area. You can pay 15 tickets to have the fortune teller give you an answer to a Yes or No question. You are asked to hold the Wii remote to your forehead as you ask a Yes or No question, but really it does not matter. It is just a video game magic 8 ball kind of thing.

There are 6 mini games and one activity in the Love Lane area of Carnival Game.

Spilled Milk - In this game you throw baseballs at milk bottles.  You get three throws to knock down the bottles.  You throw with an overhand throwing motion and try to time it when the cursor is in the middle.  Each time the milk stack resets even if you only knock down part, so you much knock the whole stack down in one shot for it to count.  This can be tough to get the time right, but in essense it is not too difficult of a mini game.  The cursor moves faster if you knock down a stack and I find it hard to get the third stack in a row because of how fast the cursor is moving.  You get a small prize if you clear one stack, a medium prize if you clear two stacks, and a larger prize if you clear three stacks.

Frog Leap - In this game you try to fling frogs onto lilly pads.  You get five tries.  You aim the catapult using the arrow buttons on the Wii remote.  You then launch the frogs using an overhand throw motion.  It is harder than it looks, as there seems to be a power aspect related to how fast you do the throwing motion.  I pretty much could not get the hang of this game at all.  If you can manage to get a frog on the middle lilly pad you unlock the hard hat item.  You get a small prize if you land one frog on a lilly pad, a medium if you land 3 frogs on a lilly pad, and a large prize if you land all five on a lilly pad.  You get a small prize if you get 1 frog on a lilly pad, a medium if you get 3 frogs on lilly pads, and a large if you get 5 frogs on lilly pads.

Super Spilled Milk - This game is unlocked once you get the largest prize in Spilled Milk or Frog Leap.  In this version you try to knock down as many bottles as you can.  The controls work the same, except the cursor moves in a different pattern.  This time the stacks get bigger with every throw and each bottle knocked down counts as a point.  A perfect score is 116.

Balloon Darts - You get three darts/tries to pop balloons in this game.  The large balloons are worth 10 points, the medium are worhth 20, and the small are worth 30.  You throw the darts by pointing at the balloon you want to pop and then moving the Wii remote forward.  I found this game to be very easy and the controls to for once be exactly as the instructions described.  You get a small prize if you score 10 points, a medium prize if you score 30 points, and a large prize if you score 90 points.

Bowler Coaster - This is an unique game in which you spin a bowling ball with a flick motion of the Wii remote.  You then release it to try to get it over the hump and to settle in the downward zone of the track.  You have to get just the right amount of spin to keep it from missing the zone or going off the track, but not too much that causes it to not get to the zone.  You get three tries.  The track changes if you get it in the zone.  You get a small prize if you get it in the zone once, a medium prize if you get it in the zone twice, and a large prize if you get it in the zone three times.

Super Balloon Darts - You unlock this game if you get the largest prize in Balloon Darts or Bowler Coaster.  In this game you throw the darts like in Balloon Darts, but you get as many shots as you can get off in 30 seconds.  You try to score as many points as you can by popping balloons until time runs out.

Meter-o-Love - This activity costs 15 tickets.  You hold the Wii Remote on your heary and then strike a pose and are then judged.  It is actually an extremely pointless activity.  I thought the fortune thing was bad, but this is totally useless.  At least the fortune thing kind of answers your question and provides a tiny bit of entertainment.

There are 7 games in the Rodent Row area, although I guess the last one is kind of like the activity like in the other areas, but here it is more of a game.

Shooting Gallery - In this game you aim at the moving ducks and press b to shoot. You get more points if you hit the bullseye (25 vs. 10) and you lose points if you hit the red ducks. You get 25 shots. This is one of the easier games to master. The only thing that can get annoying is the other shooters shooting the ducks first, as even when you do single player there are three other guys shooting at same time. You get a small prize if you score between 110 and 255 points, a medium prize if you score between 260 and 445 points, and a large prize if you score over 450 points.

Pigskin Pass - In this game you try to get the football through the tire and the hole in the wall.  The tire moves and you have to time it right to get it through the middle.  You aim by pointing at the screen. You then throw the ball with a forward movement similar to how you throw a football.  You get three tries. This is a hard game in my opinion.  You get a small prize if you get it through once, a medium if you get it in twice, and a large if you get it in three times.

Super Pigskin Pass - You unlock this game by getting the largest prize in Shooting Gallery or Pigskin Pass. This game is actually quite different than Pigskin Pass.  In this game you shake the Wii remote to build up power and then you press and hold the A button to start the angle meter.  You release the a button at the angle you want to throw the ball.  You try to throw it the farthest.  It is actually somewhat easy to do than the Pigskin Pass, although the shaking part can make your arm sore.

Shoot for the Stars - In this game you shoot at the star target.  You get 300 bullets and you try to shoot the star all up.  You aim by pointing the Wii remote and you press B to shoot.  It is pretty easy to at least get the small prize every time, but mastering it entirely can take some time.  You get a small prize if you shoot 70% of star, a medium prize if you shoot 85% of star, and a large prize if you shoot 95% of star.

Buckets of Fun - In this game you underhand throw a ball to try and get it to land in a bucket.  You get three tries.  The first ball is pretty easy to get in, but then the bucket gets smaller and it gets harder, as it mostly bounces out.  To keep it from bouncing out you got to put some spin into it.  If you get one in you get a small prize, you get a medium prize if you get two in, and you get a large prize if you get all three in.

Super Old West Shoot Out - This game is unlocked by getting the biggest prize in Shoot for the Stars or Buckets of Fun.  In this game you aim and shoot the various targets and cans until time runs out or you run out of ammo.  You try to get as many points as you can.

Going Nuts - This is the ticket pay game for this area. It costs 25 tickets to play, but it is not pointless like the two ticket pay things described in the above areas. This one is more of a game. You tilt the Wii remote left and right to move the squrrel back and forth to catch nuts as they fall. The more you catch the more tickets you earn at the end. Nuts are worth different amounts based on their color. It is not too hard to catch most of the nuts, but it is pretty hard to end up earning your 25 tickets back.

There are six games and one activity in the Claw Alley area.

Clown Splash - In this game you aim the water gun in the clown's mouth to fill up a balloon.  The first to pop it wins, but you can win a prize by coming in second or third, too.  This game is overall easy, but you do have to deal with shaking the Wii remote to build up water pressure to shoot the water and it has to be done several times per game.  You get a large prize for first, a medium prize for second, and a small prize for third.

Hole in One - In this game you get three tries to make a hole in one.  You use the Wii remote like a golf club and hold down the B button while swinging it and releasing it to shoot.  You also use the arrow buttons to aim your shot.  You get three tries.  This is a little difficult, but not too much if you have played the Carnival Games: Mini Golf Wii game before like I have, although it is harder than that because there is no visible power meter. You get a small prize for one hole in one, a medium prize for two holes in one, and a large prize for three holes in one.

Super Hole in One - This game is unlocked if you get the largest prize in Clown Squirt or Hole in One.  The controls work the same as in Hole in One.  You try to get a hole in one on six different courses with obstacles.  You end up with game over if you miss six times.

Ring Toss - In this game you try to get rings to land around bottles.  You aim using the arrow buttons.  You then throw the rings with a frisbee like motion.  You get five tries.  It is kind of tough to get the hang of in my opinion, but once you get the hang of it it can be somewhat easy.  You get a small prize if you get one ring on a bottle, a medium prize for two rings, and a large prize for three rings.

Ka-Pow - In this game you throw balls at clown targets to knock them down.  You get three balls.  You throw the balls in a baseball overhand type motion with the Wii remote.  You try to throw when the moving aim target is over the face of a clown.  This is a really easy game.  You get a small prize for 1 clown hit, a medium prize for 2 clowns hit, and large prize for 3 clowns hit.

Super RIng Toss - This game is unlocked by getting the biggest prize in Ring Toss or Ka-Pow.  The controls work the same as in Ring Toss.  You still get five tries.  This time there are not as many bottles and they move around.  Also, the rings are bigger, so you can get more than one bottle if you do it right.  This is definitely challenging, but it is kind of easier in that the bigger hoops really make it easier to at least get a few bottles caught.

Prize Claw - This is the ticket paying thing in the Claw Alley area, which you probably could have guessed existed just from the name Claw alley.  This game costs 25 tickets.  You point the Wii remote straight up and tilt it like a joystick to move the claw.  You drop the claw by pressing the A button.  I do not think getting most of the prizes does anything, but you can unlock the Alien Antenna hat if you pick up it with the claw.

There are six games and one activity in this area.

Nerves-O-Steel - In this game you try to a metal ring along the bar without it touching the bar. You get three tries. This game is kind of frsutratingly hard in my opinion as the ring does not seem to to move right. You get a small prize if you get it through once, a medium for doing it twice, and a large for doing it all three times.

Lucky Cups - In this game you aim by selecting a target cup with A.  You then throw with an underhand motion.  I found it does not always seem to work and it often did not go far enough to make it to the table.  This game is also frustrating because it only counts if it lands in one of the colored cups and it is basically luck if it does.  You get five tries.  You get a small prize for one red cup, a medium prize for two red cups, and a large prize for three red cups.

Super Circle Drop - This is unlocked if you get the largest prize in Nerves-O-Steel or Lucky Cups.  I have no personal experience playing this because I found Nerves-O-Steel and Lucky Cups too hard to get any prizes much less be able to get the largest from either.

Dunk Tank - In this game you try to hit the target to dunk the guy in the tank.  You get three tries.  The cursor moves on its own and you make an upper hand throwing motion to throw when it is over the target.  The cursor moves faster and the target gets smaller when you hit the target.  This is a pretty easy game, especially the first large target.  You get a small prize for 1 dunk, a medium prize for 2 dunks, and a large prize for 3 dunks.

Day at the Races - In this game you roll balls into the holes by using a flicking motion.  The higher value the hole the farther your horse moves.  You try to be the first to the finish line.  This takes a little getting used to, but it is not too hard.  You get a small prize for 3rd place, a medium prize for 2nd place, and a large prize for 1st place.

Super Day at the Races - This game is unlocked once you get the largest prize in Dunk Tank or Day at the Races.  This game works pretty much like Day at the Races, except there are obstacles that move in your way that makes it a little harder to get the ball into the holes.

Push A Prize - This costs 25 tickets to play. You get 25 coins to drop. You try to get the coins pushed off the edge to earn tickets. You earn 10 tickets for a green coin and 3 tickets for a red coin. You simply drop the coins on with the A button. I found it somewhat easy to at least win your tickets back at this game.
