ClickFree HD700 Hard Drive Backup
If there is one thing they teach in the Police Academy it’s that you should always have backup. I’ve never been trained as a police officer, but I believe that should apply to any computer user.
You don’t want to be the one who turns on the computer and find a black screen that says “Error”, and a request for a recovery disk. That is a sign that anything that you had on your computer is now kaput, and, in many cases, the “Reset” button on your life has been pushed. After all, some of us have our journals, memories, and other important financial information on the computer, and too often we make the mistake of putting all our eggs in one basket.
You don’t want to be that guy (or gal) who loses all his or her eggs thanks to the accidental swing of a hammer. I was that guy last October, and it was no fun. Sure, I was able to rebuild my laptop base of operations in less than a week, but wouldn’t it be better to restore it in five minutes?
That’s where the ClickFree HD700 backup hard-drive comes in. Believe it or not, the CEO of the company had the idea from visiting his mother. He was looking over his mother’s collection of digital pictures, and he casually asked his mother if she had a backup system for them. He was not surprised when she said no. After all, the sad truth of it is that most users do not have a backup system on their computer.
This is why the ClickFree HD700 is an automatic backup “for the rest of us”, because anyone can use it. All a user needs to do is plug it into a spare USB port, and then it automatically downloads the software in order to back up the entire hard drive. The kit needs no CD Rom to accomplish this task, for all the applications are on the device itself.
This comes in handy for other applications, not just for backing up a hard drive. For example, you can use the ClickFree HD700 to transfer information from computer to computer. Also, it is far easier to get information on a new computer if you already have it ready to plug in.
The ClickFree HD700 can store about 120GB worth of memory, and the company hopes to get it up to 250GB by summertime. They have even told me that it might be up to 300GB by the fall. You can get it on the ClickFree site for about $169.00.
