What is a thigh lifting procedure?
Thigh lifting is the most important operation in the field of aesthetic procedures.
The thigh lift is a surgical procedure the purpose of which is to improve the shape and smoothness of the legs for the following reasons:
For getting improved body contour of a woman or man who, for personal reasons, think that the skin of her/his thigh is off the hook.
Correct a reduction in the volume of the legs and thighs after a significant weight reduction.
Allowing the use of certain items such as bathing suits, which looks weird while wearing on thighs in bad shape.
Skin traction both superiorly and medially can give more smoothness to the skin, relax the thighs, and raise the tissue. This text will give you a basic understanding of the procedure - when it can help, as it did, and what results to expect.
How a thigh lifting procedure is done?
The method of performing traction of the skin of the leg depends on its anatomy, its problems and the surgeon's recommendations. The incision can be done well only in the inner thigh near the groin or may be necessary to the gluteal fold. Do not forget, however, that the cuts will be proportional to the amount of excess skin, and that to remove it, there is no other way possible to make scars. The choice is made with the objective that an incision is placed so that the scars are as inconspicuous as possible. In the groin or buttock region, through liposuction incision is done to facilitate traction of the skin and remove the excess skin. Then, the incisions are stitched with care. Drainage tubes are left for several days after surgery.
It is important to discuss pros and cons of each of the techniques to understand the implications of the procedure that are recommend by your surgeons.
The surgery usually takes two to three hours. The surgeon closes the wound with deep buried sutures and then the patient is to rest the legs for two or three days to allow them to heal properly.
After surgery, thighs, buttocks, and legs look better and the scars fade over time.
Condition of a patient after the thigh lifting procedure is done
After surgery, a bandage is placed initially consisting of thigh-high stockings or garments that maintain adequate compression pressure on the legs and other adjoining area. In addition, the patient should be resting at home for the first three days after the operation. For a few days, the patient will feel difficult to sit, so it is advisable to wear a panty high compression and remain at rest during the first two weeks.
Like any surgical procedure, there is small section of sensory nerve branches which get cut at the time of surgery leaving some purple ecchymosis but these repair on their own over a period of time.
Consequently, some areas peripheral to the surgical site experience decreased temporal sensitivity for a few months but these also subside after some time.
Always remember no pain, no gain.
What is a facial lifting procedure?
The word "lifting" in English means "lift", but the surgical technique is not to "stretch" the skin, but to properly reposition the facial structures that have been let down over time.
In this type of surgery, one of the most important news was that thanks to recent advances in Cosmetic Surgery to allow action over large areas through incisions of minimum length, so that the residual scars are limited both in their extent and locations, allowing in most cases complete invincibility of scars.
Each patient requires individualized treatment and the surgeon's goal is to obtain a natural result.
How a facial lifting procedure is done?
The operation can become hard, as it requires several hours if it is undertaken in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures.
Usually, the incisions are made on the hairline at the temples, extending towards the front of the ears, continuing behind the earlobe to the lower scalp.
If the neck is be treated, the surgeon's will make a small incision under the chin.
The plastic surgeon separates the skin from the face of fat and muscle level. Fat deposits in the neck and chin can be sucked to improve facial contour. Afterwards, the muscle is tightened and the excess skin is resected to finally make the stitches.
The first 48 to 72 hours after surgery, you may feel some pain or inflammation that can be controlled by medication prescribed by your doctor beforehand.
Any leftover drainage is removed within 2 days after surgery and the dressing is usually removed on the fifth day for average patients, but most of the stitches are removed after 5 days.
Recovery is rapid. However, it is best to rest for about 2 weeks before returning to your normal work routine.
It is very important to note that the change is not immediate. At first your face will look strange because of swelling, but in about 3 weeks, you will notice the beauty and you will feel much better.
The natural aging process runs its course so this is not a definitive procedure. Anyway, this technique can be repeated again in a few years.

I was at a Joyce Meyer conference in Houston a few years ago and when she came out on stage one of the first things she addressed was that she had in fact recently had cosmetic surgery. She asked the audience to not judge her and explained her justification for having the surgery as something like this- You wouldn't live in a house for fourty years and never redecorate would you? Never replace the carpet or paint the walls or add a few throw pillows or chair covers? My body is my house. I have lived in it for over fourty years and all I have done is a little remodeling. Definitely Kunika, I agree with you. These procedures are meant for celebrities or people of high profile and who are active in a showbiz business but nowadays many common men and women are actively getting this procedure done in order to improve and enhance their complexion and overall beauty. I have seen people who have loads of money and they are spending this on cosmetic surgery, especially a better term for it would be aesthetic surgery.
Another great hub. Some people will go the distance to get what they consider the "perfect body". What amazes me though, is that they pay thousands of dollars, and they still have to go and get an occasional tweek here and there just to keep that up as well. It makes you wonder if it's all worthwhile. Like kunika stated, I can understand if the person had an abnormality that they just were not comfortable with, or it was taking away from the qualtiy of their life, but to each his/her own. If that's what floats your boat, then so be it. Great hub!
Yes Veronica, it depends from person to person and what are their desires and there are many more factors involved.
The good news is, the technologies involved in these procedures are getting a lot better at what they do so it is just a matter of time before these procedures will become a lot cheaper and more importantly, easier to maintain and effective.
Great images and some neat information you got on this hub soni!
Thanks for reviewing cosmetic facial and thigh lifting procedures PSChannel. I am glad to read such a positive comment on this hub.
