Couple Having Affair to be Punished by Death
Zarkat Kahn was in love. He was married. Had kids. Trouble was, he loved his mistress, also married with three kids. In the West, it would be a normal thing and sooner or later, events would dictate the eventual outcome-divorce from the married spouse once found out or breakup from the mistress, once the adulter decided to remain in their marriage.
In the tribal areas around Islamabad, Pakistan, it is death. Death by stoning in public. A most gruesome, slow, bloody, death. It was in the Black Mountain area that Khan and the other woman fell in love. A secret love. Both were arrested and a trial was conducted by the jirga, a tribal court under Islamic law. In usual form under Islam, the woman was blamed. She was the demonic for exposing her skin to a man whom she was not married to. God forbid! Pakistan is not sure how to handle this by intervention because the crime was committed not what is normally Islamic law area but under secular laws generally.
Zarkat, luckily escaped and is on the run. The woman remains in jail. Once caught, the law will be carried out-just like God told whomever wrote Islamic law to do. I wonder if the author of islam misunderstood God? You think.
