Liliana "Lil" Lovell, founder of the world-famous Coyote Ugly Saloons, grew up in a lower middle class family in New Rochelle, New York. She attributes much of her success to the nuns at Catholic School, her pool-hustling boss at an Italian restaurant, and bartending at the Village Idiot. Coyote Ugly, the movie, was released in 2000. Lil was portrayed by Maria Bello. Piper Perabo played Violet "Jersey" Sanford, a young girl who moved to New York to make a name for herself with her song-writing. Her love interest in the film is played by sexy Australian, Adam Garcia, who plays Kevin O"Donnell. Other notable actors include John Goodman as Violet's father, Tyra Banks as a fellow 'ugly', and Lee Ann Rimes as herself. The lead role of Violet had been offered to Jessica Simpson, but she turned it down.
