Self Imprisonment
Lawlessness reigned on the planet Credo following the nuclear holocaust. Its society was made up of a few ‘powerful ones’ who still had the power of their ancestors to create reality. How high up the ladder you were in the society was determined by the number susceptibles you could net. A susceptible was one who could not break free of a forming net, which once solidified trapped the susceptible in a mould for the rest of their lives. The net was shot from an opening in the wrist somewhat like a Spiderman web and only those born with ‘THE POWER’ could escape before it solidified.
Once solidified however not even the most powerful could escape. The net shot from the wrist initially had the texture of paper, which changed into a thick rubbery mesh before completely encasing the victim in metallic-rock like casing. The final shape of the casing being determined by the will of the one who fired the net. Those trapped within the casing lost all memory of what it felt like prior to their netting and their own ability to net.
The ones in power , or ‘ Creators’ as they were called had the ability to change their surroundings at will, simply by netting, and those encased owed their very shape to the whim of a Creator who could decide to change their shape whenever it pleased them.
For those encased, life was like being in a boat with no oars and being at the mercy of the currents and the weather. Happy one minute sad another, poor one day rich another were normal experiences and accepted as such.
Avatars
From time to time a ‘powerful one’ would be born who saw the injustice and tried to do something about it. The usual strategy used by such a creator was to wear the casing of susceptibles but within the casing they maintained their memory and powers. They performed amazing ‘miracles’ to attract the attention of encased ones who otherwise would never shift their focus from the traumas they were suffering or going to suffer.
The buffeting that the encased ones received in their lives rarely afforded them the time to dwell on such questions as “Who am I and where am I going?” Whenever they did have a respite they spent it trying to reach oblivion through a number of means including dosing with elaborately prepared poisons which came beautifully wrapped. Some would go to rooms where they would line up at a counter to receive heavy blows from specially designed truncheons to numb the memories of life in the casing.
Once attracted by the ‘miracles’ the encased ones attention was cleverly directed back to within themselves to search for the faint flicker of the memory of a life before this. The ones in power never paid much attention to these great ‘ miracle ones ‘ who looked just like any other encased one. The Creators were in power and as long as enough of them were unwilling to imagine a reality other than the one they had created these ‘Great Ones’ as they were called posed no threat to their world.
Conclusion
We choose what to believe and in so doing create our own realities. Some of us in positions of power fail to recognise how powerful our beliefs are. Every time we as teachers or parents look at a child and label that child weak, stupid, troublesome or incorrigible we have netted that child in a casing of what we believe to be true. The child has no option but to live up to our expectations. Unless by some miracle children are not strong enough to break free of the mould before it sets. Every opinion we form of another has the potential to set. Before casting the net shouldn’t we ask ourselves, "Is this really the reality I desire?", because once created it would require a complete change in our own belief system to effect change in the reality we have created.
Powerful ones like Jesus and Buddha have taken human form to redirect our attention but those in power have simply used their message to devise even more elaborate ways to encase us. Self empowerment comes from realising that you are not your thoughts, or beliefs you are much more than these. You were born with the free will to choose whatever you wish to believe but somewhere along the line you have opted to surrender your power to a belief system that to this day holds you captive. Organised religion is a sign post so beware you don't mistake the sign post for the destination it points to!
