Introduction to DHEA

Reduced revels of DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) in the body, due to aging, is associated with a large number of diseases. DHEA is the main precursor for estradiol and testosterone.

DHEA levels drop by as much as 80% from ages of mid twenties to seventies. Many diseases, including osteoporosis, Alzheimer's, breast cancer, thyroid disease, and diabetes have been associated with low levels of DHEA in the body.

Increased levels of DHEA may be acheived through regular exercise, proper diet, stress reduction and supplementation.
