David Dumond Stole a First Kiss from Me

In kindergarten I was~
As little and sweet as I could be~
There was a boy who liked~
To play and visit with me.

His name was David Dumond~
He was fun that’s all I knew. ~
His mother liked my mother~
They became good friends too!

One day they came to visit us~
Out at our small farm.
David wanted to walk the fields~
As he tugged on my arm.

First I walked David~
To the chicken shed~
But David wanted~
To go further instead!

Than I showed David ~
To the tree with the swing~
Further David wanted~
To go~
He was having quite a fling!

Next I pointed David~
Out our garden~
Where rhubarb always grew~
David still wanted to venture on~
To him everything was new!

Alas we walked past~
A chunk of woods~
The field grass waving high~
That’s when David Dumond~
Caught me by surprise!

David grabbed me by the shoulders~
I thought a game he was about to play!
But all I felt was David’s lips~
Kissing mine that day!

I did not know what this could be!
I did not know what it was!
I suspected it was not good~
With my cheeks all red and hot!

I started to run from David~
Now as fast as I could!
I ran so speedily~
My heart pounded~
As the garden past I flew!

My legs zipped rapidly~
I wanted to make sure~
David could never catch me~
As maneuvering corners close~
Furiously did I flee~
To reach the kitchen’s door~
While the mothers looked at me!

I hurried to tell my mother~
What David Dumond had done!
I screamed most defiledly~
It was evident I was bothered~
Shocked and excitedly stunned!

My jowls now soaked~
With tears~
Like a warm~
Rolling flood!
For this kiss thing~
I was much~
Much too young!
As my lips~
I continued~
To wipe and rub!

My mother first concerned.
Than she looked~
At David Dumonds Mom~
And than they did something~
Curious to me? ~
That really burned!

Just imagine now~
How I thought him~
A scary creep!
Especially I so little~
And still so sweet.
The mothers started laughing!
It was very clear~
They thought it all innocent~
And funny~
As I was still in fear!
I did not like it surely! ~
This is all true!
A kiss of such~
I never knew!
At last David Dumond’s mother~
And he went home~
Because of that stolen kiss~
I was now glad to be~
Left alone!

Now looking back~
Alas a nice story~
This all makes sense.
Sweet and innocent~
Was my first kiss.
While I was so little~
And sweet in kindergarten~
I received a memory~
To be treasured~
When David Dumond stole~
A first kiss from me~
This happening can not be measured…
