Dip Recipes Made with Sour Cream
You can make all kinds of dip recipes with sour cream. Dip made from sour cream can even be healthy. I have found that light sour cream works just as well as the full fat variety in most recipes. I don't care for fat free sour cream, though. If you're really watching fat and calories, try substituting plain fat free yogurt for up to 1/3 of the sour cream in the recipe. Even people who hate yogurt won't ever know you made the switch.

Hot Taco Dip
Mix one can of refried beans (regular or fat free) with ½ carton of sour cream. Add in one package of Taco seasoning mix (or make your own) and 8 oz shredded cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until bubbly. Garnish with a dollop of sour cream, a little more shredded cheddar, and some chopped green onions. This is awesome with any type tortilla chips, and is especially good with hearty blue corn tortilla chips.

Add one packaged of frozen chopped spinach that has been thawed and drained. Stir in a pinch of nutmeg, and chill. Serve with crackers, chips, or small squares of bread.
You can add one or more of the following optional ingredients to vary the flavor: one package ranch dressing mix, one can chopped water chestnuts (drained), one package dry vegetable soup mix, and/or 5 oz shredded cheddar cheese.
