Vitamins as supplements - Do we Need Vitamin Supplements?
Do we really need supplements aside from the food we eat?
People need to eat everyday . Why? because we need energy to perform our tasks and roles, whether we are working, stay at home mothers, fathers, sports people or just sitting down and writing a book. Even if our job doesn’t require physical exertion we still need the energy we are suppose to be having. For those who don’t have time to cook for themselves, sometimes they just tend to rely on supplements like vitamins to nourish them. This should not be the case, there is no substitute for a normal healthy food. You cant justify taking vitamins because you just don’t have the time to bother yourself with a complete meal. A complete meal should have a serving of fruits, vegetables, carbohydrates and protein.
Vitamins are just supplements necessary so that we complete the nutrients requirement for our body. If we eat the necessary and complete nutrients meal, then we don’t need vitamins.
Things to keep in mind whether you will take vitamins or not:
It has been said that those who are pregnant, children, and old people and those who have other sickness, it is necessary to take vitamins by the doctors advice. Don’t just get multivitamins and then take it.

Most multivitamin formulas are similar, but be sure to choose one offering 100 percent of the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of vitamins and minerals, including chromium, copper, magnesium and zinc.
Multivitamin and its components should also be taken together. Avoid taking your multivitamin at the same time as a prescription medication, as a doctor first and tell them that you are currently taking another medicine. This is very important because this might cause a severe reaction which may badly affect your health.
Have time to eat and prepare for your food. Sure we are all working but then health is wealth so, if we don’t take care of ourselves, then how can we have energy to work, and once we get sick, the amount of money you are going to pay for your medication is higher than what you earned from working, and the worst thing sometimes is that you cant even afford health insurance?
