I thought plucking a few strings would be so easy but not so. After all its just a few stings on a guitar, anyone can do that. Just pick up the old guitar and five minutess later you can play like a real player. This did not happen, to me anyway. So I needed to understand more about it. So here we are.

Just what are guitar tabs?

What they are and a little on the basics of understanding them. Finding out what it takes for you to get those sting humming a tune or two. The term tab or tabs, is short for tablature. This is a form of musical score or writing in music I suppose, so that other players understand.

Learning easy guitar tabs.

When someone says it's easy to learn from a guitar tab, just what does that mean? The word tabs or tab is a shortening of the word "tablature". This is a form of sheet music constructed for those who cannot read traditional musical sheets. Rather, guitar tabs deconstruct the song on paper then breaking it down and referencing how the player's fingers should be positioned for each note.

Walking through the music score.

These easy to learn guitar tabs can bring the amateur guitar player into the world of music without needing the skill of reading music. It literally walks the player through the musical score and allows them to follow at their own pace. It's no wonder, therefore, that guitar tabs are so instrumental in the learning process for beginners. Many people start out with an acoustic guitar to learn tabs.

Where to start.

The most basic easy tab would seem to be 'The Star'-three strings. Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star is a popular English nursery rhyme with the French melody. You can play this song on the first three strings on the guitar. The text is from a poem, “The Star”, by Jane Taylor. It was first published in 1806. Here you have the English lyrics:

This is a great little song. I thought it worthy for some special treatment on the old blog. All ready?.

How about Happy Birthday, well as I become more aware of this subject the more you learn. On my travels I have found several different tabs for Happy Birthday. It may of been the party event but it would seem different people put down their interpretation of the that particular tune. Hum one to ponder on.
