Eurydice's Song
57William Borden
Poetry In Motion
The book Eurdice's Song is an epic, Greek Mythic book of poetry that tells a story of Love like in words that awe you and shock you to your deepest imagination. I won this book as a door prize last night at the Forum and was just going to put it aside as I usually do until time permits me to read. When I opened it up and looked at it I was hooked from the very first page.
Eurdice's Song was written by William Borden and Montypes by Douglas Kinsy. William Borden is a novelist, essayist, poet and Playwright. William has won 20 national playwriting competitions and has over 180 productions.
The film version of his play, The Last Prostitute still shows on Lifetime Television and is on video. Amongst many other titles and affilitations he is also the Editor of The North Dakota Quarterly.

There was verse of this book that I read over and over,
Yet still you sing, from bloody lips,
as if your keening melody would
bring me to you, as if I could save you
even now, while the adoring women,
abandoned by the song that's not for them,
twist and wrench your singing head
free with bloody fingers, toss
it, singing, back and forth,
awed and wanting to keep it but afraid
to feel those moving lips so cold,
the tongue so agile, and the finally hurl it,
calling my name, into the dancing river,
where it sings yet, riding the rolling
foam to blue cold sea.
