Farm Frenzy 2 - Online Game Review

Alawar have produced a cracking little game with Farm Frenzy 2. Farm Frenzy is a great online game that see you managing a farm and trying to build your empire. From Cows and Pigs, to Planes and crop management, the game has a lot of depth and is incredibly addictive.

In the game you have to start off growing grass, feeding your chickens and doing all sorts of management tasks to help get you more money. Each level has a set goal, e.g. Harvesting a certain number of eggs or crops. To do this you need money which eventually allows you to expand and gain access to more animals, and make your farm into an empire. With this you can buy your farm some huge buildings, and as mentioned even buy an aeroplane to help make your farm number one. The gameplay is furiously addictive. You will want to make every last chicken count as you try and make the best out of what you have in the game itself.

The graphics are superb for an online game. Farm Frenzy 2's clear, bright, well designed animals are combined with functional fluid animation, which really makes this game stand out from its similar styled rivals. The animals themselves are rendered in 3D originally and then simplified into 2D animation. This means you get the great highly detailed animals and looks in general, without requiring a huge graphics card to make it smooth.

The game is well paced out, and is certainly a challenge at time. This is especially true once your farm gets larger, although the superb layout and intuitive system helps make selection easy. This is essential as Bears will come and rampage your farm at any time! They make the tasks a real challenge, which makes you want to play "just one more level". Farm Frenzy 2 also has an addictive achievement system, as well as many levels to sink your teeth into.

Overall this is a great game with a fun sense of humor. The graphics are clear and the whole game is well presented throughout. The only thing missing is a coop multiplayer, however for people who prefer single player games, you can't go far wrong. The iPad version of Farm Frenzy 2 is out now, and features full touch screen controls.

Plus you get to see a Cow on a Skipping rope! How cool is that?
