Fly Fusion Pentop Computer
Leap Frog has a reputation for educational products for elementary school children, and it appears that they have grown up a little with the Fly Fusion.
The Fly Fusion is one of those digital pens that are slowly gaining momentum amongst students. The function of these digital pens is to write what the user wants, then transfer it digitally into a computer.
The Fly Fusion does that and more. As long as you use the Fly Fusion notebook, you can write anything and download it directly to your computer. Any when I say anything, I mean from complex drawings to simple handwriting. The handwriting can be converted to typed text, provided that you are writing neatly. That text can be used in an email or Word document.
This is the perfect product for any high school or college student who is forced to take many handwritten notes within and hour’s worth of class time. The Fly Fusion makes it easy to copy them down for studying purposes later.
A feature like that could sell the Fly Fusion, but it can actually do so much more. For example, the Fly Fusion notebook has a calculator printed on the cover that can work like a real calculator as the user touches the buttons with the pen. The notebook also has an odd scheduler program, as well as many others. You can even download tunes into the pen itself and play them with or without headphones.
The Fly Fusion is definitely designed to be some kind of cash cow for the Leap Frog company. It comes with a lot of accessories, such as software such as the Journal, Writing, Spanish Translator, as well as other school subjects.
There are also some great software for entertainment. For example, you can get the Jack Sparrow Compass from the Pirates of the Caribbean fame. Using the digital pen, a user can unlock certain games and even use the compass itself like some sort of Magic Eight-Ball. It’s something you have to try to believe. I also highly recommend trying out the Harry Potter Marauder’s Map. If you like Harry Potter, it feels like you have an authentic prop from the movie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Perhaps we are entering an age where Digital Pens are going to be standard for new students. The Fly Fusion is definitely designed to take the next generation into that era, but they have to be able to completely recognize handwriting. I’m not certain if digital pens are at that point.
