Gadgets: SmartShopper vs SmartShopper Deluxe
Shopping Lists? Errands? Keep it all together with the SmartShopper
The SmartShoppper – what is it? No, it is not a better mousetrap but it is a better way to make a shopping list. Yes, you can write your list on the back of a used envelope, on piece of scrap paper or even on your iPhone but if you want to get the family involved the SmartShopper is the best way to write and to keep track of a shopping list.
The SmartShopper is a small handheld device that attaches via a magnet to a refrigerator or other metal surface (one that accepts a magnet of course). There are two versions – one a little more rounded in shape and the other a cute little industrial looking square. Both are basically the same except the latter is an updated version and includes a few more features such as the ability to track two lists at the same time, the ability to create categories and increased internal memory space. In addition the deluxe model has longer battery life and is smaller and sleeker looking.
Would you use a standalone device such as the SmartShopper although your other gadgets could already do many of the same things? Voice recorders, PDAs and cell phones already let you remind yourself of just about anything imaginable. They too are small and sleek. I would venture the guess that you would. Why?
The SmartShopper allows the entire family to participate in meal planning and running errands. Just position it in a central area of the home. Make it handy to use and make it a routine. Run out of mustard – tell the SmartShopper (if you have a coupon tell say that as well). Changed your mind about that rump roast - just scroll to it and delete it. Need to return a library book – tell the SmartShopper. Customize information about the specific isle that the flat bread is located – in case someone else does the shopping periodically.
Before heading out the door head for the SmartShopper. A printed copy of your lists can be at your fingertips whenever you like – once a day, once a week or once a month.
The thermal printer is integrated inside of the SmartShopper. Small rolls of thermal printer paper can be replaced (from the front of the SmartShopper) once the roll is depleted. If there is no surface that accepts magnets there is a wall mounting kit included. The SmartShopper is powered by 4 AA batteries.
Errands will be listed alphabetically at the top of the list and the food will be listed per categories. Remember to tell the SmartShopper that you have a coupon for individual food items and then you will be reminded before you checkout!
