Gifts for Golfers

You need to buy a gift; it does not matter what the occasion is, Father’s day, Christmas, Mother’s Day, birthday and so on, you need to shop. So what do you buy?

The best gifts are often those that speak to the receiver’s passion. For example, if the person is a golfer all that is left to decide is how much you want to spend.

Unless this is someone very special to you, a set of clubs or even a new driver or putter may not be a good choice, but a book, such as Tiger Wood’s How I Play Golf or Breaking 100, 90, 80: Taking Your Game to the Next Level with the Best Teachers in Golf from Golf Digest may do the job.

Golfers always need new balls. A tip, the golfer in question may use a particular brand of ball, so, if you can, find out what they like before buying. You may want to add a ball retriever just in case.

For a casual acquaintance or as a stocking stuffer, some golf tees are nice.

For that someone special a Golf GPS unit will be well appreciated. A Golf GPs can provide golfers with precise distance information from any point on the course.

The GPS can indicate the golfer’s position on the golf course in real time and the distances to each critical target are continually updated. This is a gift that can improve the golfer’s game and keep on giving long after the original occasion has passed.

If your golfer is fashion conscious then the array of hats and other golf attire is wide and your selection will all depend upon the individual’s taste. Polo shirts, shorts, jackets and pants as well as shoes come in a diverse choice of styles and colours and patterns.

Umbrellas, golf umbrellas to protect against the sun and the rain are a perfect gift and could be the ideal accessory for the golfer who has everything.

Sunglasses are an essential part of any outdoor activity and golf is no exception. Personally, I am a big fan of the traditional Ray-Bans but the possibilities here are nearly endless.

Last but never least is golf gloves, good gloves will provide a better grip and will protect the golfer’s hands.

This selection of gifts for the golfer in your life is far from exhaustive but does give you a good look at what is available. So if you have been wondering what to buy if the person plays golf you can find a gift that matches both your pocketbook and their passion.

Bob,

Great post. Simple, but great. I wouldn't have thought of things list gloves or an umbrella, but they make great sense.

We did a post on tech gifts for golfers that I think relates well.http://www.degeeked.com/answers/detail/top-10-tech

I don't know a single golfer who wouldn't love something new to help improve their game! I recently completed a Hub myself on the new TaylorMade Burner Series which features many of the great gift ideas you listed - umbrellas, towels, iron sets, etc... Almost makes me excited for the holiday season!
