Halloween Contact Lenses

Updated on July 6, 2010

As October comes around, it is time to change your appearance to fit into the atmosphere of that scariest of celebrations - Halloween. Pick your costume and then accessorize. Nothing frightens up a costume more than crazy contact lenses. Today, you can easily select the ideal cosmetic colored contact lenses from a wide assortment of theatrical contact lenses. In fact, there are even a variety of brands of Halloween contact lenses available both on and off the net.

Basic Types of Halloween Contact Lenses

Halloween contact lenses come in 2 major types: prescription and Plano. Each type satisfies the needs of the different users of cosmetic contact lenses. For those individuals already wearing glasses or contacts, prescription fun contact lenses fit the bill perfectly. Any prescription wearer can safely use prescription colored contacts or Halloween contacts.

Plano fashion contact lenses also have their use. They are Plano - plain glass or non-prescription lenses. They are ideal for anyone who wants to dress up in Halloween contact lenses or sport colored eye contacts. They can do so freely without fear of damaging their eyes.

There are also either normal or scleral contacts. The former type of lense covers the iris. They change the appearance of only this section of the eye. These types of cosmetic contact lenses are common. They are the most readily available.

However, if you want a more complete effect, you will consider scleral colored contact lenses or Halloween contacts. Scleral fashion contact lenses are meant to cover the entire eye. They change the appearance in, pardon the pun, a more eye-catching way. Scleral Halloween contact lenses are more expensive than regular crazy eyes contact lenses. These type of cosmetic contact lenses as yet do not come in prescription form.

Major Manufacturers of Halloween Contact Lenses

Several manufacturers provide retail outlets with different color contact lenses. Many of these colored contacts are fashion contact lenses. The colored contact lens is there to alter the color of the individual’s eye. Some of these same companies also produce fun contact lenses. These crazy coloured contact lenses do not make a fashion statement. These are special effects contact lenses. They are theatrical contact lenses perfect for special occasions. Among these you find a wide selection of colored eye contacts perfect for parties and masked balls. Halloween contact lenses are a major reason behind the success of several of these companies.

The major companies producing cosmetic contact lenses and/or Halloween contact lenses are Cooper Vision and Ciba Vision. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. Each company has among its lines of vision aids specific items designed to appeal to those who wish to alter their appearance. They offer colored eye contacts, crazy contact lenses and special effect contact lenses.

Ciba Vision is the better known of the 2 major companies. Ciba Vision produces Wild Eyes contact lenses. Wild Eyes contact lenses are color contact lenses. The company produces these high quality colour contact lenses in a variety of types. The large selection includes the ever popular Vampire Red color contact lenses as well as Red Hot, Wildfire and Icefire theatrical contact lenses. Many customers prefer Black-out or White-out colour contact lenses. Others like to bring out the animal with Jaguar or Zebra Wild Eyes contact lenses.

Ciba Vision offers both scleral and regular colored eye contacts. The company also manufactures prescription and non-prescription Wild Eyes contact lenses. Their wide selection makes them a perfect choice for Halloween contact lenses.

Cooper Vision is responsible for the line of colored contact lenses called Crazy Lenses. Crazy colored contact lenses are similar to the Wild Eyes contact lenses series. There are, however, differences between these 2 manufacturers of special effects contact lenses and colored contacts. Factors include price and selection.

The price of Crazy Lenses crazy eyes contact lenses is lower than that of Wild Eyes contacts. This makes it more affordable. The drawback to this type of contact lenses, however, is their selection of colour contact lenses. Cooper Vision has a smaller line of around 10 different designs. This results in your restriction to a few set types of theatrical contact lenses. It may also mean someone else may be wearing an identical pair of Halloween contact lenses at your party.

Crazy Lenses Halloween contacts are high quality. The company makes both regular and scleral colored contact lenses. Their theatrical contact lenses are also available in both prescription and Plano format. Popular designs of Cooper Vision’s colored contact lens include Crazy Lenses Cats Eyes, Red Fire and Red Spiral color contact lenses. Fashion contact lenses and special effects contacts are fun. They are also safe. To make sure you protect your eye you must be sure to always consult your doctor and pay heed to the directions provided by your doctor and the manufacturer. If you do, so your Halloween costume will go from interesting to spook-tacular - all as the result of your crazy contact lenses.
