Skull Art Drawing And The Many Styles

Skulls feature in a lot of tattoos and fantasy art in many ways like a flaming skull, we see the skull as a top icon for death, but also a good structural element that can be incorporated into many designs and pictures. Skulls can be drawn in a tribal way or a detailed and realistic way or even a really cartoony abstract style, either way the skull is a skull and one that we should all as artists learn to draw from every possible angle.

Cartoon skull - Usually the cartoon skull is a much simplified version of a realistic skull with basic features minimalized, the grim reaper from Billy & Mandy comes to mind here.

Here is an example of a cartoon skull drawing done quickly whilst sketching out new ideas to draw skulls in many ways.

Skulls, Skulls, Skulls

The importance of drawing many versions of skulls helps you as an artist, say for instance you draw tattoo art, well there will be people out there looking for different types of skull art, from manga inspired skulls to cartoon skulls and allsorts of skulls that you can think of, so having a hand in drawing them different ways you can build up an artists portfolio of varying styles of skulls.

This can be applied to other things you draw, because you want your art to appeal to as many different people as possible if you are serious about getting your art widely exposed all over the world, of course there will be some people who may not like your art,but if you diversify what you create, then there could be more outlets for your work, it makes sense!
