How To Make A Christmas Wreath Decoration With Sparkly Pipe Cleaners
75Today I have been on a roll writing about what I think and feel. It is so liberating to always write when the mood strikes, and to never be afraid of your opinions and insights. However, it is time for another crafting hub and since Christmas is my favorite time of the year I will be sharing a fun craft on how to make a Christmas wreath decoration using sparkly pipe cleaners. Here are the materials needed for this project:
- Sparkly Pipe Cleaners
- A Large Circular Object
- A Smaller Circular Object
- Cardstock
- Scissors
- Your Imagination
If you are picky make sure to have several pipe cleaners of the same color on hand for making your Christmas wreath decoration. However, I was happy to use both green and red sparkly pipe cleaners because this gave my craft a very Christmasie look.
Step One: Trace Around The Larger Circle
For this step I actually used the outside of a canning jar lid, which is perfect because the outside can be used for the larger circle.
Step Two: Trace Around The Smaller Circle
Trace the smaller circle in the center of the larger one. I used the inside of the canning jar lid because it was ideal for the shape of the smaller circle.
Step Three: Cut Out The Shape
Cut the Christmas wreath template out of the cardstock. Do not worry about imperfections in cutting because the sparkly pipe cleaners will cover these up.
Step Four: Wrap The First Pipe Cleaner Around The Cardstock Template
The first pipe cleaner I decided to wrap around the Christmas wreath template was green. Choose whatever color of sparkly pipe cleaners you like for this project, or buy a package of one type of colors such as green, blue, sliver, or red. It would be pretty to use all green pipe cleaners for this project because it would look slightly more realistic.
Step Five: Repeat Step Four
Wrap another green sparkly pipe cleaner around the cardstock Christmas wreath. Squish the pipe cleaners together to make sure that none of the white cardstock is showing through. The bonus of using all green pipe cleaners is that the bristles look like needles of an evergreen pine. However, I decided to use both green and red because those were the supplies I had on hand. When it comes to crafting I believe in using the supplies I have lying around the house as opposed to buying new ones for each project.
Step Six And Seven: Repeat The Above Step
I used a red pipe cleaner for step six and step seven to wrap around the Christmas wreath carstock template. If you are picky you can use only sparkly green pipe cleaners, but I decided to use both red and green because this is what I had on hand. Also, I love the contrast in the final wreath decoration as you can see.
Finished Product: A Pretty Chrismas Wreath Decoration
Hang the Christmas wreath decoration on a tree or even glue it onto a card as an embellishment. The ideas for this cute project are limitless. Have fun making a cute sparkly Christmas wreath decoration.

Thank you so much for stopping by and comment G-Ma. These sparkly Christmas wreathes made with pipe cleaners are very fun for the entire family. My mom actually thought of this idea, so I decided to write a hub about it.
Cute! These would be great for antler enhancement purposes!
That is a great idea B.T. Evilpants! Maybe I should make a miniature jackalope out of sparkly pipe cleaners. Would that be cute? :)
Take plenty of pics!
I definitely will :).
Nice improvised ideas for decorations this season.
Thanks JJC13. I appreciate the compliment! Pipe cleaners are fun to make any type of craft with year around.
You always do good work! Love your work. I have been down with my computer as of late. I will keep up with you and one other lady I found. Most men will be jealous of her success though. See her on her site Chu4Health.com if you search from the address bar.
Thanks for the comments Al. Have a great night!
Al,
I went to that website and it is an advertisement for an ebook. I do not know many people who will be jealous of that. Oh well, I am a little disappointed because I thought maybe your comment was genuine.
Another cool sweetiepie idea,! good job!
Have you thought about doing hand jobs! :D
Why thank you Compu-smart, I am skilled with my hands :).
I like to use pipe cleaners too. They are easy to work with. Good idea here, thanks for sharing.
