Before Chris X popularized the 'leech method' in his massive selling guide Affiliate Project X, only a relatively small amount of people were making money off product launches.

And back then you had to have a good list of subscribers to make a substantially good chunk of change.

But affiliates were slowly evolving the "leech method".

Craig Beckta was one of them. He consistently got first page Google listings, most of them in the top 3, way before the launch date of the product. And he was breaking all the rules! 

So how did he do it?

He released his first product, Secret Affiliate Code and told the world about his methods.  SAC was a hit and many people made big money by positioning themselves on Google waiting for new products to launch.

So how do you make big money from product launches?

Many of the codes that were broken allows the small affiliate to make as much as the big guru during big product launches.

You don't need a website or a list of subscriber or know the product owner personally to benefit from product launches. These are things of the past.

You will need:

JV Notification

You will need information about the product launch in order to participate. This will allow you to get your affiliate links ready before other affiliates. Some of the basic information you will need are:

• the product launch date
• what the product is about
• a review copy of the product (optional) - some product owners will give you a review copy if you email them. To protect against freebie seekers they usually would ask you to write reviews based on the sales page.  

There are several sites that you can join where you can get advanced notification of product launches. I personally like JVNotifyPro. 

Accounts with various Web 2.0 Properties.

You do not need a website to participate in product launches. If you have one that would be a plus.

However you will need accounts with websites that allow you to post content. Some of these websites are:

• Hubpages
• Squidoo
• Blogger
• Ezinearticles
• Weebly
• Digg
• Mixx
• Feedage
• As many other similar sites like these.  

You will need to make one of these sites your main promotion page to which all the other sites will link back to. This would allow that site to rank the highest on Google. Ideally, you want all your pages to dominate the first page of Google! 

Time

Time is a big factor. You will need to set aside some time every day to post content and links to all of your pages. Also it would be best if you started at least a month before the actual launch. However, I've started 10 days before the launch and had top listings for my main page. 

A Hot Bonus

Offering a bonus is a must especially if the launch is an internet marketing related one. Many of your competitors will offer a bonus and if you don't, they are the ones that will take many of the sales.

You can get products to give away by looking for ebooks, video packages and software with master resale rights or PLR that are available online. Some of these you can buy for as low as $1 but the higher the price, the better the quality.

The best way however is to create your own bonus or bonuses. This can be in the form of video training to help out with a technique in the product. It can be free email consultation or a report or ebook that you wrote that compliments the product. There are many other ideas that you can use; you just have to be creative and offer a bonus.  

An Autoresponder

You don't need to but having an autoresponder would be great. This would allow you to collect the names and emails of persons who read your prelaunch pages. You can then notify them when the product goes live and get more sales this way. You'll then have a list of subscribers to advertise to when the next product launch comes along.

Also you can collect the names and email addresses of those who bought your product - a list of buyers is the best list you can have since they have proven to you that they will spend money online. Make them opt in to get their bonuses.

One of the best autoresponders around is Aweber and I highly recommend it even if you aren't going to take part in product launches but rather to get a list going.
