How To Make Kids Eat Their Packed Lunch
Do your kids eat their packed lunch?
One of the most challenging tasks of being a parent is to try and get your kids to eat their food each day. You may be able to achieve that at home for breakfast or dinner, but what about when the kids are at school during lunch?
Do your kids come back home after school with the sandwich they took that morning still in their lunch box? Come on moms, be honest - did it contain anchovies? Well if it did I can't help you I'm afraid...
I have, however, discovered a neat little product today that was actually invented by an Australian mother of three. It's called Lunch Punch!
The Lunch Punch
No, we're not talking about some alcoholic concoction in your child's water bottle!
This product should be called "how to get your kids to eat their lunch at school". It's the perfect solution to that problem!
This is one of those products that you wish you had invented and definitely one that should have been around a lot sooner! The Lunch Punch Sandwich Cutter makes having a sandwich so much fun! It's basically like a cookie cutter, but a little bit taller to make room for 2 slices of bread and filling. It would work best with a spread rather than solid filling, for ease of cutting, but seems to be fine with things like sliced ham also.
Lunch That Makes A Punch
How It Works
Simply make your sandwich as normal.
Place it on a hard flat surface, like a kitchen bench.
Put the Lunch Punch on top of it and press down firmly.
Twist it a few times while pressing down firmly to ensure it has cut through both slices of bread.
Then carefully push out the shaped sandwich pieces.
Normal Sandwich + Lunch Punch = Fun Sandwich. Simple!

More Shapes Coming Soon...
A sandwich shaped with the Lunch Punch is more likely to be eaten in a school lunch box!
The green "Match & Munch" cutters shown in the photo above are made for medium size bread. There are also red "Critter Cutters" like the ones they used in the video demonstration. These are designed for the larger jumbo size bread.
Keep an eye out for more shapes in 2010...they're coming!!
Kids Will Eat Their Packed Lunch If...
- It is visually appealing (such as a fancy shaped sandwich)
- It is colorful (for example - green kiwi fruit, yellow banana, red strawberries, an orange!)
- It is easy to eat (fruit in bite sized portions; the sandwich has no crust so it's ALL taste!)
- They have a say in the kinds of things they like to eat for lunch (ask them!)
- They are involved in packing their lunch
- They can eat their lunch in a fun way, if their lunchbox is cool or they're using chopsticks!
